Hey all, new to the forum here.....I joined hoping to get some help with putting a number to my Tacoma. I absolutely love this truck and have since day one but I'm looking at making the move to a 4runner as I need a more family friendly vehicle. Here is some info:

    2015 Tacoma TRD Pro (Black)
    1 Owner, never smoked in
    Northern Colorado
    83K miles (85% interstate miles)
Been off road 2 times, nothing crazy, just backcountry camping
    Weathertech front and back
New BF Goodrich All Terrain Tires 12/11/2017
    well maintained/cared for
    Interior - excellent condition
Exterior - very good to excellent (a few very minor scratches, no dents/dings)

KBB says $22-23K but that seems low compared to what I see for used Tacomas around Colorado. Any feedback would be appreciated.

It does seem a touch low. 88K is a good amount of miles, maybe not for a Tacoma, but I do believe the appraisal services (KBB, etc) ding the value significantly. I think you could sell that truck private party for 26K

83k on a 3 year old truck will be the price killer. I understand it's interstate, but still.

Is the KBB price you quote private party?

Yep, the Kbb was private party sale. And Gatordog, I’m probably a few weeks from putting up for sale but will definitely post what I get. Thanks guys

Then see if you can find a comp to your vehicle on lots near you. Factor in a probably mileage ding and the fact that the lot is likely at least $2k over priced to allow for a trade in that will make someone happy.

The answer to that 'equation' will be near actual retail in your area. If that's higher than KBB retail, then shoot for KBB retail. You'll be underpricing lots yet get a lot more than a trade would net.

Another data point is researching the loan value of your truck with a couple of local CUs or local banks. That will give you a sense of what the 'real' value is, and where a buyer might be coming at you from.

Nah man....I’m looking at making a move from m my ‘15 TRD Pro to a new 4Runner. A coworker wants to buy my truck and I’m just trying to get a better gauge of what it’s worth.

I paid 23700 for my 2015 TRD Sport DCLB with 83k. It booked for 25k so I jumped on it. A Pro should easily push that, plus you have some extras. Get on CarGurus and look what similar trucks are priced in the area and price for the speed in which you need to sell. You could always trade in for a 4Runner too, though you're likely to get much less than KBB or NADA.

V6 Camry, don't go 4 cyl unless you're in it for the MPG. The 4 cyl in my fiance's Corolla has to be floored to make it up hills sometimes.
