Any REAL info on the redesign? I love speculating and daydreaming about how awesome the next gen will be too BUT I am really curious to see what is gonna go down with the next-gen design.
With the Colorado re-design and Ridgeline redesign announced, Toyota knows they have to get something to market soon. The Tacoma is their best-selling truck and now it might finally have some real competition.
I'd really like to have a manual option and maybe a few more mpg's. I am just getting tired of waiting. It's almost been 10 years!

You forgot the solid front axles and air-lockers on the TRD Off Road package. :D

(But seriously, a diesel Taco with solid axles and air lockers on 35s would be a BEAST)

All Pro u-bolt flip kit, TJM Compressor (permanently mounted), Custom rack for the RTT over the bed, Tepui Kukenam RTT, Toyota Bed Mat, Cobra 75 WX ST CB Radio, and a lot of gear behind the seats.
I heard it will have a flaux capicator and at 88MPH you will be able to travel through time.

I hope they add a sun roof though in all seriousness

many people are interested in knowing what's coming up - some rumors are true, some false, we don't know for sure.

nothing wrong whatsoever with discussing -

what is funny to me are comments where people are whining about the topic.... don't come to this thread if you don't like it.

2016 they will go back to the 1st gen body style due to the concern over the grill and headlight redesigns of the 2nd gen being a bit too rushed and over zealous. Also, all models will feature the 4 cylinder available in the current Corolla, as it is more reliable and cost effective for Toyota to produce. Ultimately they will eliminate 6 cylinders all together to become more efficient as by 2017 they work back towards a horse and carriage approach with one year free grooming included for all new buyers.

Does anyone else find it hilarious that they show an "off road" model with tons of wheel-spin on only one wheel (open diff)... Lock that bitch up if you're going to make a video like this

Maybe they're waiting to get the Achates two stroke Diesel engine ready so they can sink headgasket issues into the annals of history, and until then they're tweaking the current platform to keep the existing truck selling.

    I can hope, right?

    LOL so true

unfortunately it's turning into the modern S-10. Considering I was drooling over a 2nd gen taco before I was old enough to drink and now that I'm almost 30 it's essentially the same truck...

maybe because it's most likely coming soon, so people think - hey, maybe i'll wait to spend 30-40K and see what improvments/changes there are.

or maybe because they know the new engine will have more power and get better mileage...

it's been enough years where it's not going to be much longer.

I for one am waiting for the new engine, as I know it's coming. yes, know. I could care less if anyone believes me. my sources are mine and I don't worry about what anyone thinks. I'll keep my 2004 until then.
