    Tacomans,

Getting ready to replace my tires for the first time. I have a 2015 trd off road, all stock. Want to increase the size of my tires without a lift but do not want to do it in such a way where it affects my steering, handling, and anything else that could be affected.
I have 265/70/16 and the tire guy i spoke to said 265/75/16 was a safe option and that without an excessive all terrain or mud tire i could do 285/75/16. I want a quality all terrain tire without a huge tread. Any thoughts or epeirences if 285/70/16 will work?

    Best,

    Brambo

Biggest tire you're gonna fit without a lift or body work is 265/75/16 or the equivalent in other rim sizes. 285 is gonna rub

I went with 265/75/16's and couldn't be happier, wish I'd gone to that size much sooner. You'll not gain very much in ground clearance with the 285's, but the tires will cost a lot more and you start having to change other stuff to make it work. If I'm going to have to modify the truck to fit bigger tires, I'm putting BIGGER tires on it.

Defintely wont go with the 285s but will bumping up an inch to 265/75 affect my torque or anything else?

In a word, no. Best tire size that won't require modification for sure.

    :goingcrazy:

There are a ton of threads on that topic.
One is even a recommended aka sticky thread with pictures of all kinds of tire choices and a discussion afterwards..
If our tacomaworld search function isn't working well..
    try google
    Type
    Tacomaworld.com toyo or bfg
Or really any topic you want.
I have still not started a thread because using this method, i have found every question I have, already has an active thread started on the topic...so I just join into that one.
I figure it keeps from having too many redundant threads :notsure:

IMG_4685.jpg I just did this tire change. First I did Bilstein 5100s all around and set the front on the highest notch. I then did a front end alignment. I bought new 17 x 9 wheels and 285/75 17 BFG Ko2s. I did a little cutting of the black inner fender guard plastic. (2 minute job) I still need to do a small amount of trimming on the flare in the front, in front of the tire. I couldn't be happier. Go big.
