Toyota is probably selling the taco for good deals to make room for the 2016... and people are probably buying up the 2015 because of good deals and not wanting the ugly 2016

Only thing I can say about them is some I've seen are ugly, some look okay. I still like my '13.
    Opinions are like a-holes....

It's actually 1.65 to 1 if you include both Colorado & Canyon.

To be fair, GM is still ramping up production. Lots of demand for the Colorad/Canyon and they can't meet demand yet. That being said, it's not likely GM will catch the Tacoma in sales.
On another interesting note, GM is selling more trucks than Ford is now. GM is showing that there is indeed a demand for mid-sized trucks. Ford should have never dropped the Ranger.

I wanted the Canyon until I test drove a few between October and December of '14. Quality was meh, the engine revs high, and the welds in the bed were painfully visible. There were aspects of it I really liked, but so many little things were wrong.

Not so with the Tacoma, so I wait for my 2016.

Ramping up production? If you read the GM news releases they have workers at the plant spitting out Colorado's and Canyon's 24/7 that are skipping all of their union breaks to create the new GM juggernaut as fast as possible!

Agreed. I used to habe a Ranger and I liked it. Busted head gaskets like they were candy but besides that it was a good truck. I really like the look of tbe new body style they sell overseas. I actually got to see one in person and it was nice.

They are still ramping up production even with the extra shifts. They are still adding weekend shifts too. In those same press released this month they talk about producing 2000 more units per month so yeah, they can still make more then they are currently making.

Starting to settle in that the 2nd gen.is no longer going to be!Bummer! As ugly(outside, inside)as the 3rd gen.is Toyota will continue to have the edge or dominate over the even uglier Chevy/Gmc market!A lot of ugliness going on!Love my 2nd gen.2012 Tacoma!

At the end of the day believe what you want from GM press releases, because that's the source of all of this information. I've had enough of hearing about extra shifts, extra weekend work, extra people being hired, and lunch breaks being skipped. If they want to convince the world the Colorado is taking over the market then do it with third party sales numbers paper and brag that up. Don't release a new article about how many man hours you're upping every day and try to say it proves you are doing fanatically well. That screams to me GM is still all about manipulating their image and could care two shits about reality.

Since I'm in the market to buy a new truck at the end of this year, I've been lurking daily on both the Gen 3 and Colorado forums. It's funny how vastly different opinions are from one forum to the other. I don't consider myself a fanboy by any means even though I've never owned a GM and currently drive a toyota. I really wish toyota would of dropped more gen3 info by now. MPG, HP, torque, options, pricing, pics of SR/SR5 trims (will there even be a 5-lug?) ANYTHING!! Regardless these are exciting times for MS truck guys.

Test drive both, and your mind will be made up. I found the Tacoma to be all-around a better truck. My only wish is two more inches of leg room in the back seat of a double cab. That's it.
