Why would changing operating angles of a Constant Velocity joint induce vibrations ? They are not like traditional u joints that accelerate and deccelerate twice with each rotation ,hence the c in cv. Traditional u joints experience this accel decel cycle to a greater magnitude with increased operating angles and rely on opposite but equal angles to cancel out vibrations, I do not believe this applies to CVs. Obviously increased operating angles decrease their lifespan, but I think vibration would be coming from something else (perhaps the sloppy internals of the diff as mentioned earlier).

So I jacked my taco up 2.5" with the Bottle jack today since I plan on getting 5100s with 885 coils. My CV boots on the driver side aren't too bad, the passenger side boots almost touch but not quite. Would I be okay with these boot angles? I'm worried about them touching when I go around curves with the suspension flexing

When lifting to and above 2.5", it's not uncommon for people to have vibrations. If you go under that you'll almost definitely eliminate the vibes.

On my last Tacoma at 2.5" of lift in the front, I would only feel the vibe when cresting a hill and the truck would 'float'. As it crested the hill the truck would lift even higher and it would vibrate while going over the hill. Once the truck settled the vibes dissapeared. If the truck would have been lifted any higher I would have had a constant vibe.

My current truck at 1.75" has no driveline vibes at all. I have some from the tires, but that's a completely different bitch.
