This may sound stupid, but what is the differance between the Stock CAI and an aftermarket CAI for these trucks?
I've searched and searched and I've read the truck comes with a CAI and an aftermarket just changes the sound.
Why do all the aftermarket CAIs have cone filters in a box? The stock looks nothing like it...is the stock CAI a true CAI?

I apoligize in advance for what could be a stupid question.

    Thanks!!!

Noise that's it. Unless you are doing headers, or a Supercharger. All you get is noise. No HP gains, No MPG gains.

Thanks, I assume that box is some sort of a resonator on the aftermarket CAI? The stock CAI doesn't look anything like the aftermarket ones.

But does exactly the same. And the drop in K&N air filters the require oil and cleaning is the same. A waste of money, as your paper filter does the job just fine

It's not a resonator box, it's just with the cone and straighter piping going to the throttle body. The air makes more noise going through it.

Yes the stock intake is a true cold air intake.
