Toyota would lop their balls off if they got rid of PreRunners. No way they'd ever get rid of them unless the world turns into a snowy apocalypse and everyone screams for 4x4.

Hey guys new to the forums. I'm actually looking forward to this truck. My local dealer already has a super white double cab allocated for me, just waiting for the vin# so they can apply the deposit. Picked up hunting last year and my Jetta just isn't cutting it...lol.

I'm curious if it comes with navigation though. It only mentions it for the 4Runner. I'm also hoping the TRD super charger will be compatible with it. I know some of the earlier reviews mentioned it, but Toyota never released new maps for the 2014 tacomas.

No way to know for sure unless you own one and compared part numbers to a baja..

my conversations with Toyota engineers and product developers have been about their testing and revalving of the Bilstein shocks that go in the TRD Pro models. so my understanding is the suspension has been redesigned for the TRD Pro models.

    so similar, yes...same, no

I like them. If they offered it in Speedway Blue I'd actually consider trading in my SR5. Until then I'll continue to plan my long term overland build...

It is a badass suspension system, IMO.

Pretty sure it's the same exact suspension! They were probably talking about the 4runner about all the revalving and stuff. But I'm putting my money on the trd pro being a baja with just some cosmetic upgrades I.e. New grill badging and trd shift knob. I mean they even use the same wheels for the trd pro tacoma which you can find on a TX-Pro.

I personally think your better off doing what you're doing. The Pro is nice no doubt but you can build a much better rig with aftermarket suspension and build it to your specs.

Hot2na is 100% correct, it is literally the exact same suspension kit found on the current baja tacoma. Only difference is some exterior pieces and the new paint color

I'm not sure if the TRD Pro does or does not have a different suspension from the Baja model, but I think it's reasonable to believe that Bob (aka NYCO) did have a conversation with Toyota engineers, since Bob is the managing editor for a fairly renowned magazine (which, by the way, he provides as a free download for all of us to enjoy):

    http://www.tctmagazine.net/tct-magazine-team

I'm not trying to get in the middle of anything since I don't know the facts myself, but it seems a little harsh to criticize Bob over his statements. I've known Bob to be an honest and professional guy, and I have no reason to doubt him if he says he interviewed Toyota engineers and was told that the suspension has been improved for the TRD Pro over the Baja (whether or not the suspension is actually different can be debated until proven definitively one way or the other, but I wouldn't call Bob a liar).

you're right...i'm making all this up and Hot2na knows everything there is about Toyota's recent developments.

i guess we can all rest easy now knowing that he's here to set everyone straight...

thanks dustin...i know what i've been told from my contacts with TRD and i believe them...if someone here on the all mighty interwebz doesn't believe me, i won't lose sleep.

and another thing that makes me sleep well at night is knowing at least i don't live in Delaware
