Do you hear the fuel pump humming if you turn the key to run, but don't crank it?

Do you have an OBD reader to pull codes?

Do you have a flasing red security light in the center of the dash next to the clock with the key on?

2nd gens don't have a key on prime so that test wouldn't tell anything.

Fuel, spark and correct timing are needed to run. One of those is missing.

Start simple by checking fuel supply.

Disconnect the air intake hose from the throttle body then spray some carb cleaner or brake clean into the throttle body . If it starts then you have a bad fuel pump

Tacoma‘s are sensitive to low batteries I will take a meter before you start the truck and see where your battery is at and then fire up the truck and see if you’re getting above 14 V again Tacoma is very sensitive about that so if your battery starting to go bad that could be the problem

Not necessarily, the anti-theft system kills the fuel supply.

We need to wait for OP to answer @Dm93 question.

There are other ways to test the system.
But the theft light will make it “easier”.

Hint for the OP on checking the relay.
If the 10A EFI No.2 fuse has power with the ignition ON, it’s not the relay.
If it doesn’t, then pull the relay and check for main power and control.

Actually crossed checked all the relays, battery and alt. Checked and had power all the way to the plug of the fuel pump. And finally sprayed starting fluid in the air intake and the truck fired for a second and quit. Just a redneck check in 10 degree weather..... I am going to start with a new sending unit and pump. :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:
