Hey, new to the forum. Looking forward to some insight.
I am leasing a 15 TRD Off-road and my lease will be up shortly. I can buy it out for a Reasonable price. Or I can get into a 17 for about the same monthly payment. Is the 17 all that much better to warrant another lease?

    Thanks,
    Dave

I regret trading my 15 for a 16, keep the 15, they are holding value and are proving more reliable.

    Too few to list.
After seeing and driving the 3rd gens, I immediately got a 15 before they ran out of new stock.

The only thing that I'd prefer is the Nav and an automatic, I have the 6spd manual.

I don't like the idea of going from 4.0 to 3.5 either. I would have liked a 6 speed auto with the 4.0 without the hunting shifts. I wonder if that would have given more mpg to the current 5 speed 4.0.

I use my phone before I use my nav. You'd probably enjoy the 6 speed manual more if you change the t-case and trans oil to Redline.

    2015 + Android Phone w/ Google Maps = FTW

I bought the 2015 because I didn't want to wait for the "All new 2016". The only thing I'm lacking is an upgraded interior finish.

But you gained free time by not spending so much time at the dealer getting shit fixed.

A majority of people who have owned 2nd gens love them and end up keeping them or trading for 3rd and go back to 2nd ... personally I love my 2nd, it's been a headache at times ... but I love it lol

LOL right? Or trolling the 3rd Gen forum about how I wish I'd never bought a Tacoma.

I test drove a 2016 and 2 2017's and ended up buying a 2015. I couldn't deal with the constant shifting every time I hit the slightest hill.
