    Hi everyone,

    I'm in a dilemma,

I have a 2021 Tacoma TRD sport manual in order, should be coming late Sept. I paid 50k$ Canadian all included.

But then I find this beautiful 2015 sr5 manual with 138k on the counter for 28k$ Canadian. The guy took amazing care of it.

What do you guys think? 2021 or 2015 ?

Thx for taking the time to answer

That's a lot of coin either way. Especially for something that has 138k on it. I get Canadian money is different than US money but still.

I'm a little biased but I'd stick with the 2021.

That’s tough. I had the 2015 until it got totaled, absolutely loved it. The only reason I’d be hesitant is because of the price for a truck with 138k on it.

    edit: 138,000km that’s a better deal.

    I’d get the 2015.
    I’d also have a pre-purchase inspection done.
Save your money, the 2015 is a great truck.

That's also about $5,000usd less than I paid for my 2014 4 years ago. Seems a no brainer to me. Unless you care about having the newest version, that's a great deal on a 2015

    This.

I love my 2015. Some of my friends have 3rd gens, and I would not trade my 2015 in for a free 3rd gen despite them costing more and having more gadgets. If I had the option of a 2015 and extra money in my pocket, I would make the decision immediately.

    Good luck on your decision.

2015, way cheaper and will do the exact same thing as the 2021. Plus insurance will be cheaper as well.
Also it seems crazy to me to take a brand new truck in the bush and beat the crap out of it, pinstripe it.

If your ok without some of the latest tech like Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, marginally better gas mileage and an updated interior / exterior design - then I’d go for the 2015.

I personally like the simplistic lack of gadgets and tech on the 2nd gens, so my 2012 is perfect for me. Anything that I’ve wanted, such as a newer touchscreen stereo interface and seat heaters, I’ve easily added.

If you don’t want all the bells and whistles then get I’d go for the 2015. But if you like new tech and don’t want to spend any time buying/modding to add the creature comforts you may want, then I’d get the new truck.

So that’s 85-86k miles on the 2nd gen.

ummm that’s what I did. Had the option of a 3rd gen or a 2nd gen used. Was shopping around and went with the 2nd gen. Preferred the 4.0 much more. And they can be made to look good too.

The 2015 is a solid truck and a good investment. You don't have to worry about age that much on these trucks as Tacoma's always sell. I'd say save a ton of Canadian money. get a proven rig, and go for the '15.
