If you have access to a dremel you could cut it into a flathead. Additionally, unbolt the 3 other bolts to the protective bar and then you can rotate the bar which should help get it started coming undone.

Don't ask how I know this works....

I think you installed the rear portion wrong, the shield is supposed to go over the cross bar not attached to the front.

    2WD vs 4WD difference.

I played around with some spacers on the forward crossbar mount where the security bolts would go and I found that I had more rattles the more spacers that were added with the least amount of vibration (i.e. basically none) with no spacers installed. There is definitely some truck to truck variation here, I expect that exhaust movement will be a function of the condition of the engine mounts etc and our truck is fairly new but I could see how a tight fit = no noise.

Nope, it's different depending on which version.

The okd 4WD design goes over the crossbar and bolts on the rear.

The 2WD version has open slots for sliding under the bolt heads in front of the crossbar.

It will be obvious which version you have, because there's no way it will fit if you place it on the wrong side of the bar.

Very odd, mine is super tight without any washers and it rattles, specifically on acceleration. Almost sounds like an obnoxious ricer exhaust is nearby.

Also good info and makes sense. Planning on installing them per the instructions initially. Hopefully that's all it takes.

Are there plans to make one for the 4X4 V6 Manual transmission models?

Mine said 3-4 weeks lead time when I ordered on Jan 21st, still no communication from them. I'm not in a hurry since I knew others were waiting 6-8 weeks before I ordered.

Patience is a virtue. I have none, but admire those who do! ;)

Curious which company did you order it from? Caliraisedoffroad or Caliraisedled? Two different companies. More here:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...2016-2022-tacoma.784146/page-24#post-28288605

I ordered from the OP, Caliraisedled about 3 weeks ago. Received a confirmation email and receipt right away. Nothing since though.

I guess I got a little wait I ordered on Feb 9. I also did not get anything after they took the cash. It says 3 to 4 weeks lead time that may be optomistic.

You didn't get a confirmation email like this?

    upload_2023-2-21_11-44-32.jpg

That is the only email I've received since placing the order on Jan 21st.

This may be a good sign that the cat shield production is picking up. Posted yesterday on the Gram.

Why would they be shipping out "yet to be purchased" shields to Hawaii before filling orders?

Just a weird guess, but that was probably a filled order. Fabricators sell to resellers too...

Hey Ryan... Yeah, could be. I guess I just assumed that the message to hit up MJM Motorsports if you wanted one meant that they were shipping those to them and would be in stock.

Both 2WD and 4WD show out of stock on their website.

No idea if they warehouse them or just use Caliraisedled as a drop-shipper though. Nice to see boxes are ready to be shipped out... hope more are coming our way soon.

Looks like CaliraisedLed is shipping a fulfillment order to MJmotorsports so they can sell them in their store. They’re still showing out of stock since Cali was just getting them ready to ship out yesterday. Guessing it’ll take a few weeks to arrive in Hawaii from Texas.

Just nice to see a big batch of them ready to ship. Things are moving.
