I live in rainy PNW and had a car since November 2017. Mine has no evidences of the leak , but I checked the light and can see that gasket around the light is not doing its job. There is 1-1.5 mm gap. It seems that either bolts are not tight enough or design issue.

I'm gonna put a bead of silicon around it.

Vlady, Mine has that gap as well and i can move the light a little. i'm going to attempt a headliner removal to see if maybe the screws have loosened. I appreciate the help from most of you. To the people that are just arrogant and prickish .... not so many thanks to ya'll.

Mo original had no gap - never had a leak. The new one just installed has a gap, but still no leak. Maybe this gap is the "new design"

It should have been a sealed light compartment design. So that if it cracks or does leak behind a rubber seal which it will eventually do imo, it doesn't ruin a headliner at a $350 labor cost plus parts.
Do you feel comfortable that the rubber seal will last 10 years ? Not me.

My 2016 has the gap. No leak yet. I think it looks suspicious though.

Is there a part number listed on the work order from the dealership when you had it replaced ?
Wondering if it is different than original ?

    Bolts/screws are behind headliner

How is there not a TSB on this light issue yet? It's going to eventually happen to all 3rd gens. Personally I'm not feeling the clear sealant around the light as a fix.
Is there some official way to get the TSB process started or possibly a recall?

see bold - that was my exact issue about a month ago, they fixed it. I had water everywhere,
pretty shitty to walk out and find it after a heavy rain but they got it straight and we've
since had a shit ton more rain and I've not seen one drop inside the cab.

It still doesn't look quite tight against the cab but it's not leaking or I'd of seen it
after the last couple weeks here. I'm debating on whether or not to put some
RTV sealant all around it or just leave it be.
