Hello, I am trying to find the oil capacity for the front and rear differentials and transfer case, what viscosity and should it be synthetic or conventional? I also want to use some LiquiMoly gear oil additives if they're compatible. Thank you

I don't have the information handy, but it is all in your owner's manual, except the LiquiMoly part. No idea about that. Check the sticker on your driver's door frame for information on your specific differential. I think it is listed there.
FWIW, I used Mobil 1 75W-90 in my differentials, and will only use the specified Toyota fluid in the transfer case.
Also, all of the required drain and fill plug gaskets can be bought in a kit from Amazon.

Thanks. I don't seem to have the owners manual. I am the second owner, I bought the car from a VW dealer.

And the engine oil change interval is 5,000 or 10,000 miles? Thanks

My manual recommends 10k changes but also says something like heavy or severe use to change every 5k

10k for regular light duty and 5k for severe. I do the 5k max on the SR just because -- and it's nowhere near severe duty requirements. Figure out what works for you and go for it. As long as you go the the OM as a minimum - you'll be OK.

Does anyone sample and test oil anymore? I'm curious what a lab would say about oil after 5 and 10,000 miles. I'll never run 10,000 miles between changes, but mine gets used harder than most - both hauling and pulling trailer.

I use Blackstone Labs and everything looked great after a 5000 mile change. I have only done the one analysis so far, but will do another with a 10,000 mile interval. One member here posts his results.
