2016/2017 Tacoma stalling risk recall

Dude...your truck must have been the first out of the line in 2016! LOL

What would your life be without it giving you a reason to be famous/infamous here at TW?

 

I'm so stoked for all the copycat threads that are going to pop up over the next day or so. Those responses are always a blast.

 

Going to keep going back for new hoods every month...

 

i hope they offer us extended warranty to compensate for these problems

 

Do not apologize-nice to know what is going on before most others.

Anyone know if I decide to change out the CPS on my own dime, will Toyota Corp. reimburse me for the cost of the CPS?

Just checked mine, all clear!

 

Build date 3/17---Negative for both CPS and rear diff, so far.

 

Shame on QA, good on Toyota for acknowledging and correcting the problem. The hits just keep coming.

 

One guy I know personally had over 6 hoods replaced and ended up lemoning his 2016

 

What did he buy as a replacement?

According to the link for VIN# look up I am scott free on both recalls!! . Makes me feel good. Lucky so far I guess. @smitty99 This guy has had nothing but BAD luck on his rig and he looks to be correct on CPS and rear diff.

 

Gotta fight for those--they don't hand them out easily.

 

This is weird, as my hood does not vibrate at all. Maybe I got a good one? Can only hope they do recall the hoods and I get a new one without rock chips once that comes out...

I would verify you have the updated part--don't count on them to tell you.

 

Interesting, when I input the VIN for my 2017 Tacoma built in November, I get:

There are no open Safety Recalls or Service Campaigns for this vehicle.



I would have at lease thought the diff torque issue would have shown up.

 

Off-roads are not included in the recall, we have a bigger/different differential.
