Hey there Moe and everyone. Just recently helped a friend yesterday work on this install on his 2017 SR. He purchased all the newest parts that you have listed on the first page. Although, we hit a major wall at step 10-12. The kit we were working with is shown in the picture as well a below dash picture. We were unable to find the wires, both on the kit and in the truck, that you were referencing. You'll notice in the picture we have a white wire coming from the fuse, a (very short) red wire, the relay, and the green plug for the switch. Notably, we couldn't find the single black/white ground wire you mentioned in step 11, under the dash. Any thoughts as to what we are missing, are we blind? Thanks a lot!

I got some auto wiki foglights for my sr. And love them. But one of the fogs is collecting moisture so i saw this as a good opportunity to get caliraised led fog lights. It was like 50 bucks so im not too upset at all. Will the led fog lights be compatible with the wire harness that came with the original fog lights? Heres the picture of the fog light kit

So I’ve run in to an issue with this mod a couple of years after doing it. My button broke and I’m looking for a new one. I figured no problem I’ve got the thread bookmarked so I’ll just use the same link and buy another one...but for some reason their buttons aren’t the same as they used to be and it didn’t fit. I’ve ordered another one from Amazon that allegedly fit as well and it doesn’t either. Does anyone know of a button that will work for a MT button slot to the left of the clutch start cancel button? Even if it’s a different button from another trim level that just fits that slot that I could repurpose for my lights?

My 3rd gen has slots for the small form factor switch and the large form factor, the last one I got was the larger fog light switch from CH4X4. Prior to that I had a Mictuning (from Amazon) small one. Both have blue LEDs. Which do you need small or large? Do you have a link to the one that doesn’t fit on Amazon? Or a pic of the slot you want to use? I have an auto so can’t compare.

So it’s smaller than the clutch start cancel button and appears to be the same size as the blank spots I have on the other side of the dash under the A/C dials. But I have no buttons there either to just use one of those and repurpose it for the open spot I need to fill. And as far as links I used the one for the button used in the OP for the first try at a replacement. It looks like the Amazon one was the CH4X4 one you mentioned.

Yes you need the small form factor switch.
    https://www.ch4x4.com/product/ch4x4-toyota-small-push-switch-fog-lights-symbol/
I used the larger one and it’s on the same slot position as your clutch cancel switch.
I do know Amazon has the small fog switch in other brands not sure if the CH4X4 small one is there.
If you have trouble putting a small switch in the small slot, I have heard of some having to file a tab slot because the tabs didn’t match but I thought that was a second gen issue if I remember correctly.
This is the Mictuning switch I used in the smaller slot originally. It fit and worked fine but I replaced with the larger one only because it was easier for me to find it at night by feel on that first large slot position.

    You’re welcome!
For reference here’s the first Mictuning small form factor fog switch I installed (linked above, the small form factor CH4X4 switch I also linked should fit here as well):

And here’s the larger form factor CH4X4 switch I later replaced it with:

What screws are you guys using to mount the fog lights to the truck?
Each light takes 2 screws but not sure which ones to use.

Curious- Did you ever figure out the answer to your question??? I'm in kinda the same boat, only different is my "long white wire" is red and the short one that seems to go nowhere is yellow. I believe the red/white wire should go to the battery, and the instructions say the yellow/ red wire should tap into an accessory light wire, but I cannot for the life of my find the wire I should tap into!! Also, even with everything else connected except the yellow/ red, I would assume the fog lights should still work, but mine are not working for some reason. I'm currently searching long and hard through these posts for an answer, but thought I'd check if you ever figured it out!

    Thanks!

I am looking at the exact same fogs, love the square look. Yes, does anyone know if these will hookup with the original kit harness?

Can you (or anyone) elaborate on this, please? I also have the 15a 'FOG FR' fuse in the engine box.

Quick question, does the switch have to be powered for the lights to work or is for the light on the switch only? I’m asking because I am waiting on a add a circuit and the lights aren’t working everything else is hooked up..thanks for your help in advance
