Gen 3 Tacoma 3.5L TRD Sport 4x4, automatic transmission. 175,000km on odo.

For the last 10,000 kms or so, When automatic transmission downshifts to third gear, there is a rattling/clattering sound from the engine bay, similar to lugging the engine in a manual transmission. This sound is only heard when downshifting, when 3rd gear is just engaged and not in other gears. The sound goes away after about 1-2 seconds. The sound is not heard when in ECT power mode.

    What could be the reason?
