2016 Access Cab Thread

Yep. It was a misinstalled panel. Two of the push pins were not in their holes. Easy to fix at home, just search out the panel removal vid that I posted in the past.

 

First Taco Access after having 3 Dakota extended cabs. I made a few mods.
1) DB3 remote start (self installed for $55).
2) Rear view mirror with HomeLink garage opener ($40 used on eBay).
3) TDR Pro grilll (aftermarket).
4) Tonneau cover.
5) Replaced running boards with Predator steps (after pic was taken).

To be honest, I feel my Dakotas had a smoother and quieter ride. But the Taco seems more solid and gets better mileage. Add that to the Taco's longevity reputation, and I'm happy.

 

Who else would love roll down quarter windows on their AC?

 

I'd even like pop-out hinged windows like older trucks. Anything to have some extra air in the cab.

 

What kind of running boards are those? Part number if you remember? Also sweet looking truck.

 

In this photo what size are the wheels and tires?

 

Sorry for the late reply! I'm still running this exact setup on my new truck.
I'm running stock suspension, 265/70/17 general grabber at/2 tires wrapped on a 17 x 8(.5) I believe. Method NV

Edit: it's worth mentioning if your truck has the stock fender flares and mudflaps it will rub slightly around 1/2 lock when turned either way .removing mudflaps or trimming them down will eliminate this rubbing

I think after reading every single 41 pages I should at least post a pic of my one week old AC. Already ordered some Rigid Fog lights for the front...should be in next week. Pretty sure I'm going to put some new rims on ( TRD Pro SEMA rims in graphite ) and some 265/70 x 17 KO2's or equivalent. Been fun looking at everyone's access cabs

Thank you. Sliders are MBRP. They're not too heavy and got them more for door ding protection and step duty.

 

First mods to the truck were Husky X-Act Contour mats for the front seats - excellent fit and flexible - and Cooper ST MAXX in 255/85r16 which fill out the wheel wells so perfectly. Eventually I'd like to get a cap but I'm not sure where I'd store it if I ever had to take it off. A new grill would be sweet too. I'm torn between a customcargrills retro style with the small Toyota lettering or a TRD pro grill. A pro grill is definitely cheaper where I'm located. Might do a grill before I spend the big bucks on an Old Man Emu lift despite my left rear shock blowing up (warranty fix soon), much cheaper and it'll keep the mods bug at bay.
