Just wondering has anyone had the bed on there 2016 be out of alignment. Mine was shifted about 2 iniches two the drivers side took it back in to get fixed know it's straight but the gap between the passenger side is about an 1" to 2" wider than the drivers side it's almost like the passenger side panel is shorter even though that makes no sense?

take it back again. It sounds like they shifted/corrected the part up front , but didn't align the back. I wasn't even aware there was that much slop/adjustment.

If they can't fix it, you can pretty much ask for a new bed.

maybe it is not the bed, maybe the cab is out of line?
i would crawl under and check the mounting points and look for something out of wack both on the cab and bed!

The bed has 2 pins on the drivers side that it fits on. Unless you break the pins out its pretty much set. If you look at the 2nd get tacomas they are the same way, looking like they are out of adjustment.

I found that mine is slightly out of alignment as well. I can barely get my fingers between the cab and bed on the passenger's side, but can stack my hands together on the drivers side. Taking her in this weekend to see what they'll do.

Well it's back at the dealer for a third time starting to get annoyed. So far with 1000 miles front bumper had to be replaced it was scratched in shipping they Istalled tanou cover wrong also has the same whistle noise that many on here have talked about wasn't shipped with the bedrail tie downs and now a third time to try to straighten the bed oh ya and the glue between the hood and cross support has to be redone. Will be in the shop for a week apparently.

I had the same issue, and thought I was the only one. Didn't noticed when I picked up the truck and they said everything was tight. They just took box off and religned it. 8 20151202_152642.jpg 20151202_152642.jpg 20151202_152636.jpg

Mine is about an inch over to the driver's side. Took it to the dealer today and at first they tried to tell me that it's just the way they are, same when I pointed out that my hood has the bad glue issue. So I offered to call Toyota direct and the tune changed. Appointment scheduled for February.

Mine was shifted to the left approx 1 inch as well. I thought it was a fluke, that got through quality control. Guess not. There is quite a bit of adjustment available in the bolts. I just loosened the 6 bolts in the bed and pushed it into place and tightened them down. The bed is very light. I did not feel like taking it in to the dealer (no time)

UPDATE well my truck has been in the shop for a week now and I just talked to dealer service and the bed has no more adjustment left and still is at least a 1 1/2 out of wack. Apparently he has called toyota and is waiting for a response makes me wonder how many more are out of wack. I switched from Ford to toyota for the quality/dependability that by the way my 06 tacoma that I traded in had but now I'm seriously starting to question that. Don't get me wrong I love the truck but these type of things are getting frustrating especially after there where three delays in the build of my truck I finally get it over two months after the original build date and in the first month it's been in the shop for over a week and four different repairs and now I still have to wait for toyota to come up with a fix.

Anyone know how easy it is to loosen the bed to adjust it? I rather do it myself than have the lowest tech on the totem pole screwing with it. My tailgate has a bigger gap on the left side when closed. I'm thinking I might be able to move the right side slightly to widen the gap.

My box is still in line after the first time in.. My truck was fixed by the body shop at the dealership not the mechanics.. The thing thatt gets me is they said the box wasn't loose or anything just that it might have been built on a Friday or something.. I didn't comment, but I know for Damn sure it wasn't like that when I picked it up. Build date was 10/15 and built in the States. One thing I always noticed and still do is it seems like the box moves more the any other truck I owned.. Looking in the side mirrors as I am driving, the truck rides smooth but the box looks like I am driving down a wash board road with the flex.. I am keeping a eye on it and will bring it back in if it goes out of line again.

Yup, same issue. Bed seems to favor the port side on my truck. Thought it was a warp in the mirror at first. Oddly enough the front of the bed matches the cab. Thinking that the bed itself is out of square. Might get some string and do some high school trig...

I also noticed that the bed will contact the cab near the rocker panel. Way too much frame flex. I guess Toyota's claim about high strength steel refers to high ductile strength as opposed to flexural modulus.

Recently started getting an annoying level of rear access door rattle. It rattles like a 1982 Ford cargo van. Door seals scratching what little paint there is around the doors.

1" of rear axel tracking error and excessive tire wear...

Gen 3 Tacoma is totally McFly; i gotta go Back To The Future: crank the stereo until your deaf or something important falls off.

    Bump.
Brother just took in my truck for 10k mile service. Bed is misaligned.

The truck does drive straight. And when I picked it up, the bed was aligned.

The bed had 500 lbs of load evenly distributed for the first 5k miles. On my trip up to Colorado and back to California through the I-70.

The majority of my miles are highway. 80%

They see the misalignment and agree that it's not right. We'll see what the dealer says.

    I'll update on the regular.
