Gotta question someones first post when they mention how cheap everything feels. I wonder how he likes his Colorado.

Question - was it perchance a Baja built or a San Antonio truck? I saw an SA truck yesterday (TRD OR) and it was solid and tight.

Interiors are often a matter of personal preference. As long as the controls work well, dials and gauges easy to read, after that it's fluff and style. Some of us would prefer the plane cockpit look. It's fine......what isn't made of plastic...errrr composite these days.

Does Baja get shittier quality parts, like cheaper plastics and thinner metal because Mexico?

Are could it be that every single truck is built differently than the one before it and the one after it, because such is the nature of mass production with plastic and flexible materials like thin metal, manipulated by human hands?

Im going to sell my 06 with 205,000 miles on it and probably still buy an 2016, I was just not at all impressed with the build quality compared to my 06. I had zero problems with my 06 the entire time I owned it. Great truck!

Agree, these are just my personal thoughts/opinions. I am curious if others feel the same or if I am being too picky about things. The truck is expensive so i would think something like build quality should not even have to be discussed. All this said, I am still going to buy one.

The dealership here MS has one SR5 in the showroom. They're not sure when they'll get the other trim levels. I know it's been talked about on here but the only thing I found weird was the black on the door pillars is just a vinyl sticker rather than an actual piece of the door.

I didn't know that... I'll have to start looking. I love the 2016's though.
I'm 6'2" and when I sat in the drivers seat it felt great. The front bumper "chin" really doesn't stick out far at all. It's more than a 2nd gen but it fits the styling of the new front end. The door closed and sounded solid, not the "tinny" sound that was stated in the article review posted earlier. Overall I was very pleased with he fit and finish.

Yes. The 2004 xBs all had the tape on their door surrounds and jambs IIRC.

Highly doubt "build quality" has anything to do with what's been discussed thus far. The way the parts are assembled probably does not very much between plants under Toyota's Production System. What you guys are discussing has more to do with material quality. And I'm willing to bet, thanks to NAFTA, that most...if not all the parts for both the SA plant and Baja plant come from the same sources. So we're back to the whole subjective thing. Unless something is blatantly at one end of the spectrum or the other...there's no real way to tangibly measure it. Enter....opinions.
