    Hello all,

New to the forums, glad to be a part of it!

This is my first Tacoma as well, bit the bullet and ordered a 2016 TRD Off-road in Inferno, 6spd Manual DCSB, loving it so far, just hit 2k miles the other day, picked it up early August.

I did my share of reading on here and other forums before purchasing the vehicle and well before making this post. Just yesterday my clutch pedal started creaking. It's not yet like the real whine that the older trucks made, but it creaks when you engage the clutch. I first noticed it while I was trying to get the diff locker to engage (thanks to the forums I did btw) by rocking my truck back and forth to no avail. I did figure it out eventually, 4WD has some tricks.

Anyway, I have plans to grease it up when I get around to it, I spent too much money and time being excited to be mad at it for having some quirks. Just thought I'd report in as an owner with the squeak!

Anybody else have it yet? It doesn't drive me nuts but worth fixing.

    Best of luck.

    ~Shep

8k miles on mine. Only seems to creak sometimes at the last bit of release if I'm going reverse to 1st. So I'll be parked for example, reverse, go to 1st, then as I come up a bit of creaking as the pedal fully releases (after the clutch has engaged). Other than that, pretty silent so far but only time will tell.

My 15 squeaked and creaked like an old barn door when it got hot outside, I ended up using disc brake grease down on the pivot points and its been silent and smooth ever since.

My dealer tried re lubing moving parts. No sucess. 2 weeks down the road they ended up replacing the entire clutch pedal assembely. No issues, been 2000 miles. When mine was creaking it seemed like it was more noticeable (like if the truck was sitting under the hot sun)

Definitely hot temps made mine worse, that was the reason I chose Disc Brake Grease to lube with.

Glad I chose the manual. Sounds like there was a lot of problems with the autos before the update came out. Plus wasnt too keen on a "sealed transmission" with no dipstick

My truck has 3400 miles and it creaks when it's 80 during the day.. Which only happens for two months of the year. I'll bring it up at my 5k service.

Hmm I suppose it was warm when mine started doing it, however I was leaving work some days at 90+ and no noise, it is still very early on mileage wise however. Just from what I've read on here that brake part grease seems to be a good choice. A little bummed it started so early but once I saw how much plastic is involved I'm not surprised. I can agree, mine seems to be noisiest when I'm backing out and going into first, the slow and smooth will do it.

Mine creaks like a screen door some times, and sometimes it's silent. It's definitely worse in the heat and humidity.

Well they attempted to relube mine it worked for about a day. Then it came back. Went back and service called toyota and recommended replacing the pedal assembely. Its under warranty. Doesnt effect how clutch operates just annoying like say if you had a dash rattle.

Can't help ya there, think I'd cringe if I put a sticker on her

The only way to properly grease the pivot points on the pedal is to remove it. If the dealership replaces the entire pedal assembly without greasing the critical points, the squeak will return.

Will do, report back when I get a chance...good feeling to actually get a response from people on a truck forum btw, not something I'm used to, guess the Taco was a good move in a few ways!

You'll enjoy it. Just not enough grease during assembly. An issue throughout the generations.

    http://www.toyotaparts.metro-toyota.com/TSB-0186-12-Clutch-Pedal-Squeak-Noise.pdf

Since your truck is still under warranty then would let Toyota deal with it. It does not get better or go away so don't fool yourself (talking from experience with my truck)

Since my truck is no longer under warranty I followed the advice in some of the threads above but used graphite spray lube and turned a plunger bolt (as detailed in the threads). It has worked well so far but still comes back in hot and humid weather.

Other guys say what's in the italics below works better. If mine comes back then I'll try this fix next.

I just lay on my back, on the floor board, using the Permatex ultra-disc-brake-caliper-lube in a plastic syringe (you can get them at pet stores)

...and then just push the gel like lube into the pivot points on the pedal assembly as shown in this TSB http://www.toyotapart.com/TSB-0186-12-Clutch-Pedal-Squeak-Noise.pdf ... I only do #1, #4, #5, then pump the pedal a few times to make sure is covers the area well. Works great

Yes. But it's ok because if I have someone annoying in my truck, I'll start playing with the clutch pedal.
