So I have 16,000 Kms and this started around 14,000 Kms. Before anyone says I need to learn how to drive, I've been drying M/T since I was 16 and have gone through many different types.

Anyways, the problem isn't the clutch engaging. It's the noise and feel of the clutch. Almost a rattle sound and a gritty feel is developing. Shifting is smooth. Clutch in/out is fine. The noise and feel is annoying.

Toyota has "lubed" it and the problem is still here. Toyota said head office will be in contact with me in a few weeks and we can open up a case. It's just slightly annoying driving now. Any takers?

Is it a creaking sound? I've been having a creaking sound from my clutch pedal for about 4k miles. It's a little annoying and I'm going to have them look at it the next time I get an oil change

I tried lubing everything up too, but it hasn't helped. If they do anything for you to solve the issue please let me know

Creaking? Clutch fork. Especially if it sounds like it is outside the cab.

Mine sounds like it's directly coming from the pedal. There's a creak at the top of the throw, just after I shift and right before I take my foot off the clutch

    OP, from another thread:

I know it's for a 2nd gen clutch, but trust me the damn thing looks the same!

That is it. Thank you MOC221, I'll bring this up with Toyota now. Glad I'm on the only one from a 3rd gen and also 2nd gen that have had this problem. Better now then after warranty is over lol

Alright, so Toyota has made a wrong a right. I printed off a 2nd gen TSB that was provided here and brought it to the service desk. They ordered all the parts and truck is going in on Friday for work. Love it

OMG, it'll make you cringe! It did it once with a buddy of mine in the truck.. he looked at me as if to say -how much did you pay for this thing?
I got in there with some white spray grease and that did the trick.

Let me put it this way, it feels and sounds like the spring when it happens. I lubed the hell out of it and worked it into the coils.
The sound was still there for a while but not nearly as bad. Don't hear it at all these days.
It worked a little too well though, because now my linkage bangs together with a noticeable click at the top of the pedal travel.
I can only assume that the friction of the dry spring dampens that movement a bit.
Anywho, taking care of the spring solved my problem, may not for others.

Okay. That sounds legit. I will try the TSB FIX first, if that doesn't work then I will most Definetly go with the other option of lubing the spring first.

Honestly man, I didn't think that Toyota would just do the TSB on your 2016.. I posted that for reference because it says in the document where/what to lube.
Apologies, I should have told you my quick fix at the same time.

Also have the creaking that has progressively gotten worse. It's happens upon lift of the clutch pedal and drives me nuts. I'm at 13000k

BTW I have greased the shit out of the plunger, top spring and bushing. So far it has quieted down...

My clutch pedal was creaking too. I sprayed it with Dupont Teflon dry wax spray lubricant and I haven't noticed it since. It was fairly annoying.

Yep, this is a problem I've dealt with on my 2011.
There is a ball at the top of the clutch master cylinder rod, which rolls in a pocket in the clutch pedal lever. If it gets dry, it gets creaky.

The service bulletin had the original pedal and master cylinder replaced with new ones, which differed in precisely ONE way; the ball and pocket are BIGGER. This is presumably to distribute the pressure over a larger surface area. While the service bulletin was successful and mine hasn't creaked once since then, the thing about it is that it still has to be greased. Likely the larger ball allows the grease to remain in the joint better rather than being forced out.

Your 2016's will already have the updated parts in them, so replacing these parts is not going to cut it. The solution (which COULD coincide with part replacement), is actually going to be the added lubricant. On the older parts, lubricating it would fix it for a short time -- around a month.
