First of all...this has nothing to do with the actual gen-3 Taco itself. I just want to say it's amazing to me that so many people seem to be so worked up (in a negative way) over this new truck. Truth is...few people here, if any, have actually seen this truck in person and none of us has driven it. Let's back off a bit and reserve judgment until the thing actually comes out. And in the end, outside of raw numbers, most things are subjective. Opinions rarely matter and/or change things and in the end....nobody gives a shit about them anyway.

A decade or so ago when the gen-2 Taco popped, how many gen-1 guys bashed it? Lots of them...."so glad I bought my gen-1 when I did"...."it's too big"...."it's too ugly"..."it's got a plastic bed for God's sake!"....etc, etc. Yet, all of these years later the gen-2 has been a huge success and is superior to the gen-1 in many ways...real and subjective. It's not been without it's issues, that's for sure....some of which could have been addressed by Toyota much quicker. But even when the Ranger and GM twins were produced, Toyota still had 60% of the small/midsize market.

So let's remember that soon enough there will be 2016 Taco people floating around here....both members that are already here and new ones finding TW for the first time. So let's make '16 Taco owners feel welcome. Hopefully Toyota has worked out as many "bugs" as possible....certainly not an easy thing to do. No amount of testing and simulation can duplicate 1000's of owners with real-world driving under their belts!

So let the 2016 roll on in. I have a 2015 that's not going anywhere for awhile. But I'll enjoy reading about this new truck and seeing lots of great pictures of it too!

Agreed. I was gonna write a long post telling my feelings about how bitchy just about everyone is in the 3rd gen forum, but it would just start an argument. I hope that it is just the limitation of the written word and doesn't really indicate how these guys are IRL. And it's not just the haters either. A lot of the pro 16 guys are just as bad.

People are insecure they will be driving an "obsolete" vehicle. So they trash the incoming model and say how much better their current vehicle is.

It's real bad on motorcycle boards.

While I agree the truck is not on the street yet but, there are some things we do know. Leaving out the looks as that is totally subjective. there are still a lot of things that were not addressed that should have been (i.e. rear disc brakes, seat position, power seats, etc.)

This ^ There are alot of constructive arguments if you get past the bitching. You have the hater 2nd gen guys who dont like it cause its a mutated version of their loved 2nd gens and you have the 3rd gen fanboys who refuse to believe the new truck is infallible or based off a 2nd gen. It goes both ways.
