The manual off road has ATRAC, same as the gen 2. No MTS or crawl control. ATRAC is basically Single Terrain Select, and the terrain is rock.

qnyla, congratulations. You owned exactly the truck I've been dreaming of, ever since it was made official that '16 was going to have a manual. Can you confirm that your M/T has an old-school key? Toyota's website is less than clear, but I think I saw that only A/Ts get the push-button start. If so, is there still a touch-activated lock on the door handle?

Old school key integrated with fob. No push button start. I'll post some pics when I get home this evening.

Touch activated lock on door handle? Hmmm, not sure I understand. Here are the photos.

Thanks for the pictures! I was asking about the exterior door handles. I thought I saw that these new trucks were going to have the proximity sensors like the Prius has done for a while now; you can walk up to the door without taking the key out of your pocket and hit the button on the handle. Maybe that's only with A/T trucks as well . . .

The proximity sensor unlock feature is only included with the push button start system. A/T only...

and if its like the 4runner, the sensor is actually on the backside of the handle with a minimum of 2 fingers to sense and unlock the door.

no little black button like the older doors.

Ive noticed differences in the offroad rear bumper. Do they colour match or are they chrome? Also for the terrain select, does it only work in 4x4 low, or also 4x4 high?

You get the color matched rear bumper if you get the prem&tech package. The chrome interferes with the sensors located within the rear bumper or so the interwebs have claimed. Either way the original statement holds.

How does the power compare after owning it for some time now? Do you feel like it has more power at highway speeds?

    1000 mile update.

I am enjoying driving the 2016. The truck has enough power for me. My only real concern is low-end torque, but that does not seem to be as big an issue as it did in the first few drives. Alternating between driving my 2006 and the 2016 on familiar routes gives me a good basis for comparison, and the 2016 is comparing very well.
