Your truck looks awesome, I thought the 42 HP extra would make a lot of difference, are you saying it doesn't..?

Have not had it on the highway much, but here is what the computer is telling me on city-ish driving with a bit of highway.

Awesome fuel economy....but I'm a little confused, how can the best be 20.6 and average 20.9. That math doesn't make sense.

Average is for the current run, not average of all runs.

Congrats on the truck! I just picked up mine on Friday. I am also an NM resident, was able to get mine in state though. I have gone to AZ in the past to make a purchase, but I have a few friends that work at American Toyota. So, I managed to get a fair deal. Wouldn't call it good, but in lieu of a 400 mile trip, Im satisfied. :mudding:

Definitely post pics of your new set up once complete! How are you liking that 6 Speed Manual? so smooth with up shifts/down shifts. I loved the test drive in it.

That is only if you intent to use first gear only. There are many ways to manage traction. On manual you could choose different gear and the truck should know which gear you are on and adjust accordingly. The calculation between RPM, wheel speed sensor and speedometer would adjust ATRAC parameter required.

Years ago I was wheeling with my friends solid axle jeep with lockers and automatic. A few occasion my 87 Toyota pickup with manual transmission is having less problem maintaining traction. I was using 2nd and third gear to maintain traction on slippery stuff while he leave the transmission in full auto mode.

Crawl control and MTS cannot work with manual transmission but a good experienced driver would be able to replicate it them self.

I am looking to get back to off roading and interested with MT since if I want auto there are a lot more choice available. OP, nice truck. That is the same exact combination I am looking for.

Don't expect to do over 45-50mph up the passes & hills. Otherwise consider the Tundra for towing something that heavy. I have the I have the OR double cab TRD.

Recommend Mountain State. No D&H and $100 plus on Invoice. They do a lot volume and made the sale super easy.

Awesome truck, thanks for all the pictures and sharing your experience. Would it be possible to please get some pictures of the interior when you get a chance? I am interested in the TRD OR DC 6 speed MT with the premium & tech package, same as you have, but I have not been able find a single interior picture with these specs. I am interested in seeing the gauge cluster, center dash of the screen and climate controls, and the center column setup with the manual. Thanks in advance!

Here are a few iPhone snaps, not very high quality but the best I can manage at the moment. Hope they show what you are looking for.

2016 TRD DC OR Quicksand on the way! Here is the thing. 90% of my time in the truck is doing sales around town and on the phone a lot so aggressive loud tires are out for me. I do not like the stock wheels though. I was thinking to pick up some TRD black beadlocks like they used on the 2015 and just reuse the Goodyear Kevlar stock tires. I just don't know how those would look with the stock treads.

    Any thoughts?
