Again, I appreciate the honesty and understand the enthusiastic, spirited inputs. Hey, we all are entitled to our opinion, right..? It's up to us as individuals to make our own decisions.

I have an appointment tomorrow to test drive another TRD OR. I've asked the dealer to give me the truck for a few hours, by myself to "live with it.." That will help me make my decision.

A decent stint on the interstate is a must for a test drive.

However, I do have to enter the Tacoma head first and the Tundra can be right leg first lol.

Like most people, its reliability will be good, the engine is in millions of other vehicles and many of us beat the shit out of our trucks offroading and they always get us home.

    Just test drive one.

Test drive and really spend some time just sitting in the cabin before biting the bullet on a new Tacoma. If you're coming from a big roomy F-250, you might hate the downsized cabin in the Tacoma lol. It definitely takes some getting used to.

I have both a 3/4 ton diesel and a 3rd gen. I love my tacoma, it’s a blast on the trails….but if you told me I could only keep one truck it would be the diesel.

My wife and I just made the change from a 2019 superduty 6.7 powerstroke to a 21 tacoma trd offroad. I loved the f250 but it was just too large for our use as our needs had changed it just no longer made sense. My wife also hated driving it due to the size. The fact that the dealer gave us $6k more than we paid for it was icing on the cake. 2021.... Crazy times for car buying and selling.

I have had many toyotas in the past so we test drove the tacoma and she loved it. I have also grown to really like it over the last couple months. I will say that I do miss the power of the 6.7 as the 3.5 is pretty pathetic but as long as you go into knowing that you just adapt. Everything else is great. Quite, comfortable, Easy to maneuver and park In the city, ext.

I would highly highly recommend an extended test drive if possible as it is going to be a complete different experience.

All i can say is comparing the new tacoma to an f-250 power stroke diesel is like comparing raisins to watermelons. If you like the taste and texture of a watermelon don't expect it to be like a raisin.

I have had 1-2 and now 3rd Generation Toyotas. You cannot compare them to a big truck with the v8 for pulling, working etc etc. For a compact truck they do their job. I had read about the 3rd gen with issues from 16-19 but most of them have been corrected or replaced. I bought my 2021 TRD Sport Premium for the reason that all those flaws have weeded out as of 2020. So I will wait and see if it is true or not. I love my Sport 25-26 mpg, very comfortable and enough power for me and it is a looker as I get all kinds of comments from both sexes. Good luck

I've been really satisfied with the towing ability of my tacoma v6 auto. Its fine for moderate needs while getting much better fuel economy than my 4.7 tundra doing the same work.

for me, interior size on my tacoma is my biggest gripe. in my opinion it is "very" compact for a truck. heck my 2002 dakota was roomier. I feel like "power" can be improved or tuned out (which i did), but tiny interior and back seats cant. 4 average sized adults cant sit comfortably in my taco in my experience, at least not for anything over a 30 minute ride.

I have the 2021 TRD Sport Premium and it does not come with all LED lights only the DDL, mirror and back lights are LED. Head lights and fog lights are not. This is on the Canadian package.

    Currently I own a 2020 TRD off-road and a 2004 F150 crew cab with a Whipple supercharger. I have owned other f150s and driven countless both f150 and f250s.
If you want to downside a Tacoma is great because....
    1. It drives way better than a f250 or a f150.
    2. It rides way better than a f250 or a f150.
    3. Parking lots are much easier
But if you want to work it then you must be reasonable with it because...
    1. Performance stock will leave you wanting more but a tune can help with this a lot
    2. Towing must be kept within reason

Now as far as quality goes Toyota builds good drivetrains but the body has always been thinner than a beer can. The interior quality is great and I think better than a newer Ford.

17 x 8.5 KMC wheels, yokohama 285-70-17 geolander, 3" lift, 800 watts of alpine, leer shell, front & rear cloud cameras,
If your over 6' tall & 220 lbs trips over 3 hours long will be a bit uncomfortable due to cab & seat space add in 3 of your 6' tall buddy's in a Double cab is hell throw in 400lbs of gear or one dirt bike your now over max GVW. Power is there BUT you need to get the revs up plus the trans shifts alot maintaining freeway speeds. Mine has alot of road noise from tires (my fault) they ride rougher than your ford

I'd look closely at the F150 with Ecoboost motor & 10 speed auto it's a very powerful motor, the cab room is a bit smaler than your big ford, it can damn near pull as much as your big ford, if you keep your foot out of it you can get the same mileage as the Tacoma

Tacoma' s are a great truck if your under 40 years old for a daily driver & long trips, they get ALOT of accolades from everyone especially guys (mostly under 30) wanting one, you meet other owners that either talk your ear off or there offended yours has the....fill in the blank here......they want but can't afford (Harley like cult) between my Ducati's & Porsche 911 I'd say the Tacoma owners are the nicest people I've ever met under 35 years old & I'm 60

I own both a 2015 Super Duty with the 6.7 and a 2020 TRD OR. If I could only keep one truck it would be the super duty. The TRD OR is great for daily driving but the F250 is a more capable truck. Both trucks have great resale value and have been reliable to this point.
