At the dealership now getting oil changed and just looked in a sport sitting here In the delivery room and it's on the turn signal stock, asked for a key to it and bam they turn on with the rotating switch on the stalk!

Yep, on the stalk - at least on the OR model. My 2016 OR has it on the stalk.

One thing you should know about me is I absolutely do not blow smoke up peoples asses with unverified facts, and if I find out something new I go back and edit. This is the parts catalog entry for the stalks:

This is the parts catalog entry for every dash switch:
Switch 8 labeled generic "Tacoma" is TPMS, Switch 10 labeled generic "Tacoma" is Parking sensor.

The stalk is absolutely, positively where the fog light switch is, and other members have verified this many times over.

However, as I stated in my post, the stalk is a large integral part of the steering column and is not an easy or quick swap over. Hence, a dash switch is probably the easier solution.

And I'll go one step further down the rabbit hole for the sake of the community. I have managed to scrounge up a wiring diagram, and the signal wire for the fogs actually comes out of the ECU:
(FFGO is a typo, it should read FFOG, also the 2 W-B wires cut off at the bottom are just the ground straps.)

So, this means to use the factory relay and fuse you're going to have to find that beige wire. Could be in plain sight, could be an absolute bastard and a half to find.

Subbed as I'm considering a 3rd as a 2nd vehicle in the near future.

Nitori, I think looking at pictures of the 3rd gen, you may not need to take the steering wheel off etc, I think replacing that stalk would be similiar to replacing the windshield wiper stalk as some have done with 2nd and 3rd gen Tacomas, by taking off the column cover behind the steering wheel. What I would be worried is if it is pre-wired up to there.

I'll have to take the cover off to 100% verify, but based on the illustration:
and a picture of a similar Toyota part (off the Camry and Tundra IIRC):

It's not looking good. I'm gonna get out to the garage and pop off the cover to verify though.

The cover comes off way easier the second time around. (AKA once you know what to do!)

Yeah, no go on stalk replacement, it is indeed the big steering wheel surrounding piece.

Also I'm totally stumped because I got a pic of the connector:

And it doesn't match at all what I'm seeing on the wiring diagrams:
Looking at the pic of the harness, 9 isn't even wired, and 18 is red, not green. Unless I'm having a huge brain fart something is afoot. Maybe a different harness for the SRs?

Well it looks like I stand corrected. I thank you for all the info. I will be using an OEM dash switch and making my own harness from the switch out to the fuse panel. At that point I will pin it out myself and tie into the wiring for the stock relay. Basically from the relay to the lights will be factory, from the switch to the relay will be my own.

That sounds like a pretty sensible option. I realized I was having a bit of a breakdown in terms of spatial reasoning. The diagrams are pinout from the front of the connector, not pinout going into the back:

MSpainted connector cross referenced with wiring diagram:

    And my picture:

Yep, I was thinking of the pinouts in the opposite direction, which is why I was getting so confused. Anyways terminal 8 and 9 are foglight terminals, and are the only ones I could find that weren't on the bottom row. Clearly, SR harnesses don't have it, so even if you did swap in a foglight switch stalk, there would be no wires in the harness for it.

Man, this was so much easier on my old WRX! Plug in the stalk, plug in the relay, and suddenly my existing fog light connectors have switched power.

Ok so here's where in at. I bought an aftermarket kit on eBay which included the fog lights, wiring harness, and switch. I tested the switch and no matter what I do it'll only throw a positive trigger out to the relay. After testing the stock relay wiring, the stock relay requires a negative trigger which is what I would expect. Does anyone have access to the wiring diagram of the stock say 2015 Tacoma dash mounted switch? Hopefully the stock switch throws a negative trigger. If that's the case, I'll buy a stock 2015 dash switch and use the harness that came with the eBay light kit. Sorry I know this is winded and may be confusing to some but once I have it all sorted out I will clean everything up and do an official write up.

Not sure if this will help you a lot but this is a 2016 wiring diagram for the whole headlight system, including fogs.

Reason I'm looking for the 15 dash switch is to see if the 15 switch throws a positive or negative trigger out to the under hood relay. I've got everything figured out at the relay and out to the lights using the stock under hood harness. Just have to work out the switch wiring.

Hmm, I don't know that for sure. However, if you look at the 2016 diagram, you'll see that it's not actually the switch that triggers the fogs- it's the ECU. The switch sends a signal into the ECU, then the ECU spits out a signal that triggers the fog relay. (I'm guessing this is so it can turn the lights off when the high beams come on.) Dunno if that helps at all.

That throws another wrench into things. Seeing as the ECU is in play, it may not be safe to trigger the relay externally. My fear is back feeding the ECU and possibly damaging it. Gaining access to the bottom of the fuse panel under the hood is next to impossible so disconnecting the OEM trigger wire is also impossible. I've got an idea for that though.

Ok got it. Used the aftermarket switch and aftermarket harness. Mounted the relay in the fuse panel under the hood and tied into the oem power wires in the fuse panel. This allows me to use the stock under hood harness out to the lights. All I had to do was run a single wire through the main grommet to trigger the relay. Loomed and wrapped same as factory, blends in perfectly.

I'm not in love with the idea of a relay just sort of laying in the fuse box... I'll have to look and see how annoying it is to get to the bottom of the fuse box itself- I was under the impression that it was just a few clips or something and then you could lift it out for access to the bottom.

Anyways I may be facing the ultimate reality of the fact that I'll have to add an aux fuse/relay box because looking at all these builds with aux LED bars and fogs is making me want some.

3 bolts hold the fuse box in place. It's all the wiring going to and from that makes in a nightmare to flip over and work with. Relay and al wired in zip tied in place and secure. I don't love it either but it's not going anywhere and I like it more than mounting the relay under the hood someplace
