I'm installing the 2016+ recovery bar and I got to Step 16 and I noticed for the first time that there are supposed to be "supplied" M10 bolts but I am just now discovering that none were supplied.

    Step 16
Reattach the aluminum crash bar to the recovery bar mounts using the supplied M10 bolts. It reattaches using one bolt per side. Slip the bolt through the backside, bottom outer hole. Place the crash bar in place, thread the factory nut you removed when disassembling the bar over the bolt. Then tighten down with a 14mm box wrench over the bolt head and a 14mm deep well socket, extension and ratchet.

In looking at it, I now see I do need the supplied M10 bolts as the aluminum blocks with the studs are replaced by the recovery bar itself.

Can you advise exactly what parts I need to pick up from the store to finish the install, please?

Kind of a bad part of the job to figure out that I have this question...

    Thanks!

    Replied to PM.

    Will reply here too:

Are you sure you didn't throw them away when removing packaging? I put them in a bag, shrink wrap the bag to the main square tube, then wrap more foam and shrink wrap.

If you already threw away the material then you'll have to go get the bolts but I know they were there when it shipped.

The bolts you need are M10x1.25, 30mm long.

    M10x1.25, 30mm. Thank you.

And no, I didn't see them so if they were there, they are long gone. Easy enough to pick up.

Must've thrown mine away also with the packaging. Got to that same step today and had to scrounge around to find some bolts.

Love the look and placement of the Front Recovery Bar but because of the required trimming I'm still on the fence. Do you have any close up pics or possibly a supplied template of the area of/for the material that needs to be removed? :fingerscrossed: I'm sure there are others that have the same concerns and I'm guessing that if provided it would increase your sales. Thanks Joe.

There is no template. I believe it’s captured in the directions on our website.

Didn't see it Joe, I'll look again. Took a shot and checked YouTube but no luck.
    Appreciate the reply.

Awesome recovery bar. I'd like to have my recovery points by the summer wheelin trips and this is exactly what i'm looking for. Only thing that's stopping me in that you have to cut into the grille. One question...

Would it be possible to lay the the recovery points horizontal? Then just gusset the bottom.

Seems like it should still be strong enough since it's pretty thick metal. What do ya think? @Mobtown Offroad

I just finished the install of the front recovery bar with front receiver hitch on my 2018 TRD Offroad. Did have to remove right much material on the grill to get clearance. Photos attached. Bar fit really well at the contact points on the frame. Overall, I am really happy with the outcome. 20190309_094945.jpg 20190309_094835.jpg 20190309_095010.jpg

The sheet metal cut was quite easy. It is a thin piece. One cut and fold with pliers to move it. Air dam does need to be trimmed see pics below. Soft material and easy enough to cut. BTW, tried a few methods of cutting the grill. Easiest by far was dremel with a small sanding drum on low speed. Gave great control of the cut. Hardest thing is getting fenders flares off so you can remove front bumper cover. Broke some of the clips and may have to replace. 20190309_122343.jpg 20190309_122413.jpg 20190309_122434.jpg
