I just finished installing a Front Runner SL2 Cab Rack and Canopy Rack. The Cab rack is hitting my sharks fin antenna.

Anyone else have that issue? I have slid it back as far as possible. Looking at some 2nd Gen's it appears their fin is further forward than ours? I plan to call Front Runner on Monday but wanted to see what the forum had to offer since I've seen a few on here.

Also, I'm my canopy rack sits 6mm higher than the cab (canopy has 60mm feet). Canopy is an ARE Z-series. Everyone else's sit flush?

Looks like some cutting required. But for the basics, what topper with what racks do you have installed? They look pretty damn good, with exception of the antenna. Did "Front Runner" is it? claim this was for a 16 with and HD antenna?
I think I would be thrown back a bit when they asked you to ask the forum....do they not know?

Like I said other than than that your lines are pretty clean.

Yes they claim it will fit the '16 and will also work with the antenna.

It amazes me to some extent how this parallels that one guy who is an idiot and makes everyone else look bad.
Hope they fix it for ya.

Wanted to follow up on this for others in the event they're thinking about buying the rack.

I've contacted Front Runner about returning the cab rack. They sent me out +10mm spacers to raise it off the antenna. It looks terrible and I'm worried it would compromise strength and create wind noise.

The standard spacers and rack dented my roof from compressing the antenna. Again their site says it will work with the Sharks fin antenna.

Here's some pics for reference. Hopefully they'll stand behind their product and make it right. Not to mention I'm out $200 on new drip moldings.

If Front Runner has a rep on here pleasE point them my way.

Loud without their fairing. Slightly noticeable with the fairing installed but not bad.

Update: Bryan at Front Runner contacted me today. They've renewed my faith in customer service. He clearly said their engineers got it wrong with the spacers. They're shipping me a Prototype 2016 rack and I'll report back after install. Apparently the first one going on a 3rd Gen.

Again Front Runner is making it right! I highly recommend them to anyone.

I'll let you know tomorrow or Tuesday. In any event I do not believe the 2016 rails are out yet. I'd be curious to know what others that are running it are seeing. I'm guessing they paid for an install and didn't notice it crushing the antenna and roof.

Fits pretty much perfect. Clears the antenna by about 1/16-1/8th. Also has the cutout for their table mount.

Bryan contacted me from front runner saying they have a cab kit coming out in 3-5 weeks. Well fit the 2016 without having to use any added spacers he told me to contact him next week for an update on how the test goes. Regardless this is the best looking rack imo.

I'm thinking I'm the one testing it. He said this is one of the only sets in the States right now. I sent him pics and measurements earlier.

It is by far the best looking and stoutest IMO. Also this prototype doesn't use any added spacers it sits flush with the drip gutters.

Subtle differences between the 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen.

    Looks great on your truck!

Almost ordered this setup online today for my 2016...glad I found this thread!

Are you still able to tilt up the sunroof with the cab rack?

I can't wait until they have these 2016s available. Was hoping to get mine before a 4000 mi trip mid August.

Bryan from Front Runner was able to ship 2016 prototype cab rails with my order as well. Got it all mounted up (except for front "covers"...I need longer bolts?).

    30C82071-C924-4A95-B03E-7B8C65FEF1BA_zps_f6c80bc1bfb93198ca498d369bc9b8eed9fa42ea.jpg

I ordered the swing away awning mount before I realized it wasn't designed for my rack size. It works well, but I will need to modify it to latch the rack across the rear (the arm is about 4" wider than my rack and thus the stock latching bracket location will not work). No big deal.

ARB awning all mounted up!

Front Runner stuff is high quality and Bryan was tremendously helpful. I highly recommend their stuff!

If you're local to the Denver area and want to see the Front Runner stuff in person, Slee Off-Road in Golden, CO carries their stuff.
