I put some 87 octane ethanol free (100 % gasoline) and got a 2 mpg increase. The truck runs & shifts better too.

2017 SR5 DCLB 4X4 Auto stock tires and no lift with a cab high snugtop rebel, roof rack and Yakima Space booster top box I average 21.7-22 on 14mile commute driving 65-70ish in Drive. Tank average is usually 20.5.

I've been trying out the Sport5th gear pos. and like it a lot better than Drive. I'll bump to 6th on freeway above 65. I'm a mileage nerd so I'm always driving for best MPG.

They are all 6-speeds....Manual or automatic?

2016 Limited V6 auto, completely stock, 3000 miles, Michelin LTX 265/65's. Took short 75 mile trip each way yesterday, 95 percent highway, 55 & 60mph speed limits, 23.9mpg going "up", 24.8mpg coming home; this is typical highway mpg since transmission reflash. City I get high teens to low twentys. Don't have heavy foot but don't drive like grandma either.

I have an SR5 doublecab 4x4 with a 2.75/1.5 inch lift and 285/70/17 tires. I have a 50 mile commute and I am an impatient driver, speeding up and slowing down a lot. I average 14-15. Before the lift and tires, I was getting 18-18.5 babying the thing.

Do you use 6th gear much when you aren't on the interstate? It might take more gas than 5th a lot of times.

If 5th is in the 1,100-1,500 rpm range on level to small hills I wouldn't use 6th.

    Might help mpg.

I'm on a lot of country road. 55 - 60 mph take hills in 4th and usually in 5th. Anything above 65mph is 6th gear for me.

Just drove to Riverside from Oakland. Tank avg 21.2 drove 75 most of the way, climbed Grapevine in 4th running 75-80. Filled up in Gorman on the way back Tank Avg 20.1 again doing 75. Drove in evening so not much traffic.

12 miles commute each way. Open highway over rolling hills 60-65mph = 20mpg. Same commute stop and go = 15 mpg. 2016 TRD OR SB automatic with tonneau cover. Long term average high they 17's.

Best ever was nearly 30mpgs in slow-and-roll traffic over about 20 miles at 40-50mph.

A 16 sport, stock wheels, auto, 16k in. Between 20.5 and 21.5. Not to much hwy, lots of stop and go, and a heavy foot when traffic allows :)

Does stock Sport get better highway mpg than OR? Do the tires and dam help?

I'm a 13K mile TRD OR with about 50/50 highway/town and my tank avg for this year is 19.9mpg. I'm alright with it.

This is my daily trip to the beach, 25.9 mpg. Cali coastal hills and valleys. I pretty much am cruising at 55 on country backroads and using momentum at every opportunity.

I was getting 23-24MPG due to adding stickers I have dropped down to 11-12MPG, but the stickers look cool:smack:

I think the tire's rolling resistance is very important, and the air damn helps some too but a lot of people don't like the look.

I can't comment on whether the Sport or Off Road gets better mileage, but if I was a betting man, I'd bet on the Sport winning by just a bit.

Thanks man! How's the SR5 treating you these days? Looks like you're getting some really good MPGs.
