I'd be worried about water getting into your tank. Or even sand.

Yup, especially at the angle these are at when installed, but that will be the case for every vehicle. Just doesn't provide enough "preventative" measures to reduce that risk. I'd be worried how many times that flapper/ one way valve can be used before it doesn't hold proper pressure and the SES/ CEL comes on due to EVAP leak.

OP, I'd keep the factory cap in the vehicle just in case. It won't be warrantied if you get the codes for EVAP issues and that's found installed.

I was just about to post a similar picture of mine that I put up awhile back. I recall in that thread, some members said their gas cap wouldn't stretch that far...

Yeah I would rather them siphon my tank dry and lose the gas then have them poke my tank to steal it. The gas is cheaply replaceable in comparison. I dont use any locking cap for that reason.

Those folks must be pretty narrow minded to not have the logic to figure out that at the base of the gas cap "retainer, rope, cord" (whatever you want to call it) you could simply just rotate it to give it the extra slack it needs.

doesn't always need to be enemies.
I know one jobsite I was on where we were parking a bunch of cars got keyed and broken into, they ended up catching the person too...was a mentally ill guy. Guess it comes with working right next to the largest mental health hospital in Toronto.

Do you need to know, or care?
As I said " I don't have to worry about that". I have always used a litmus test to check for level of craziness. :D

you never know. Dude one of the guys I work with, married a girl we worked with. Honestly used to go drinking with them and everything she was a cool girl, but after they had kids she went crazy. They ended up getting divorce, lost custody of the kids as she was diagnosed unstable.
If I didn't know her prior to having kids I wouldn't have believed she was once normal.

And she smashed the head lights and windshield of his dodge charger lol.

That's still your fault. Your crazy ex should be more scared of you than you of here.
