My choice would be the pilot.

Lose a couple hundred and towing gain 3rd row and look a lot better appearance wise.

    No way......

Again I say if I am worried about towing plus seating or however you want to skew it I wouldn't compare either. The odyssey is designed for more weight since it has 3 rows plus people plus towing. Of course it says more.

I'd still trust the Tacoma over it hands down.

The payload advantage is hardly worth bragging over either.

Was it racing in a stock class like the tundra? Other wise it doesn't matter. Any truck will do if you have the money to build it up.

Amazes me how some people just refuse to give any credit to any other truck than a tacoma.

That truck looks fugly. Another crossover front end on a truck :(. Honda is obcessed with making vehicles I hate the look of ever since they made the S2000, which is still a car I hope to own one day second hand.

:notsure: For a crossover, yes. If you use your truck like that you will blow your load all over the Ridgeline. Lots of reviewers got the Ridgeline stuck once surface conditions got even the littlest bit dicey. If you want to go field scouting, into some mud, or on a logging trail leave the crossover, I mean trucklette, at home.

I give lots of trucks credit. This isn't a truck... Again....

How do you figure? Doesn't look any less of a truck than the new ones coming out from GM and Toyota.....

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
Traction can only compensate for tires so much

Im just saying; the Ridgeline isn't a "bad truck" because Honda can't make a good one.

I believe that if a vehicle is not body on frame it's not a true "truck". I can stick a box on a minivan or haul more with a full sized van than any truck, but to me those aren't truck either.

I'm not knocking people who will buy the Ridgeline. I solidly believe it's in it's own category of Trucklette, a CUV derived unibody truck.

For my purposes I likely wouldn't be satisfied owning one. I get your point if you are indicating that the Ridgeline not being a true truck is just my opinion. From your opinion though you'd stick the Hyundai Santa Cruz prototype in the truck category as well :(. I'm just not there.

With either the GM or Toyota products I'd be confident I could go where I wanted when I wanted within reason offroad and on. I don't think the Ridgeline will do that.

I never said that. I'm sure Honda could make a great truck. They just chose to stay with the Ridgeline being an extension of the Pilot, which to me makes it a CUV with a box.

As for traction most reviewers take the Tacoma or Colorado out with the highway tires too. They don't seem to have the same problem with those vehicles. Again, Honda makes and probably made a great AWD system for this trucklette. It's not what I would want on my truck though.

Chinook Carriers (a cargo company in my town) has two Ridgelines for running stuff around town. You should see that IFS body roll when they have any weight in the back. Neither of these trucks are good for payload. If someone wants that they need something bigger than a mid-sized.

A minivan would have sever body roll too...

Also just FYI trucks rarely have the biggest payloads... They save that for the full sized vans, so I'm not sure comparing trucks and vans by capacity is the best way to figure out what's a truck.

Hey Chris is the new Ridgeline body on frame or unibody still?
