I certainly agree with you 100%. Neither the Ridgeline nor the Odyssey is for everyone. I grew up on a ranch/farm in Africa and do not see the Ridgeline surviving those conditions. Our Hilux and Land Cruiser trucks did just fine.

Here in the States I live in a city and do a lot of road trips, so I can't think of any vehicle that will be more practical than our van. Same way the Ridgeline will be able to replace my Tacoma for the Home Depot trips, camping trips etc. with no problem.

Doesn't look half bad. Much better than previous generation. More competition only means better things for us consumers.

That's a VW Amarok with a photoshopped Honda grill.

If anything the Ridgeline will look more like the new Pilot.

The one I saw was identical to the one I posted. Im wondering if VW is going to make the body? Or maybe they took the body, and did some minor changes for evaluation purposes?

Even though Honda has done that before...The first Pilot was a rebadged Isuzu Rodeo for an example. I highly doubt thy'll use the VW body... The VW is a body on frame vehicle, plus the new renderings look like the new Pilot...to me anyways. Stranger things have happened so who knows??

I am kinda interested in the new Pilot...probably in the very very low minority here...wouldn't mind an IRS Tacoma. My step father's Highlander does wash board roads better than my modded Taco...plus it beckons back to Ivan's TT.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
I have driven one. And I concur. It has a lot of really cool ideas and features, but as a truck. IT IS ONE HUGE POS!

If I was a short lesbian chick with a butch complex I would drive one.

I kinda like it...but yes, as a truck...not unlike a Tacoma DCSB, pretty useless as a truck. I need at the very least a 6' bed. I don't know how people get by with those stumpy beds. With the lack of space and low payload the Tacoma within itself sucks as a truck...all things considering. I do like the platform though..Tacoma's are mostly a recreational play things...not "real" trucks IMO. Why I moved to little Toyotas in the first place...no longer worked construction...so didn't need a big truck anymore, need something to haul bikes and camping gear mostly...and the occasional Home Depot run...

Hell, really don't "wheel" anymore either, fireroads are about the hardest thing I do anymore, I ride dirt bikes...cages are fricken boring to wheel for me, and can't go where you can get a bike in...so just need a gear hauler...the Ridgeline would work if it had a 6' bed.

Even a 6' bed I run out of room for the toys, considering a RCLB Tundra for my next gear hauler.

At least it has an actually truck bed now. Still looks like a minivan though.

I know. People keep complaining about the new 3.5. It's gonna have more HP, Tq, and better MPGs so I don't see what's to complain about.

Tailgate down is over 6 ft. Not to often does the suburban person haul more than a 1000 lbs. Can haul plenty of bags of mulch, half a yard sand/dirt, throw your muddy bikes in the back, haul dirt bikes with the tailgate down, store ski/boots back there, put in a riding mower, and so much more. A bed extender has done wonders for our truck and 5 foot bed. Dinning table, chairs and L shaped couch fit in the back of our CC SB Colorado from Ikea in one trip.

Just because you need more doesn't mean everyone else does and there shouldn't be an option. I can walk around my truck and work on it in the garage with the door closed of a standard garage. I stick out less in parking spots and turn tighter in close areas. Have I debated going CC LB next time, sure. But it hurts off roading, takes up more space in the garage (it will be almost as long as my brother EXT Cab 6.5 foot bed chevy) and the only thing I would wish for my truck to do with a longer bed is haul my Kawasaki Vulcan. But honestly, when would I ever do that? maybe once or twice, and I get hold of a trailer easy or rent one. Dirt bikes fit in back no problem.

I can tow a good size boat, get mid 20's mpg (next truck) and 5-10k as opposed to a full size truck comparably equipped. Mid size trucks are a great deal, maybe they will make them even smaller for those that want even less. With 7k towing, 1500 lbs hauling (more than multiple RAM 1500's) they are FAR from useless. Don't know how I would get done half the stuff I do without it... Guess a larger CUV to tow and a trailer to store?

Oh not saying the 5' bed shouldn't be an option...some guys can make it work. Everyone has different needs. Just doesn't work for me. I camp out of mine, with a topper...need to have the tailgate up and the glass closed to keep out of the weather. I tend to do a lot of side jobs and home improvement...even the 6' bed runs out of room real quick. I have a trailer as well when the bed fills up, and it does right quick. Though I am yearning for another fullsize. I drove F250's before I moved to the smaller Toyotas...now that fullsizes are getting the same if not better mpg than the Toyotas, doesn't make much sense to stay with a little truck. Fullsize would haul my dirt bikes and camping gear much better. I run out of room with the Taco real quick.

Thought of a DCLB Taco, but I dunno...can get a Chevy DC 6.5' bed with more power and the same of not better fuel economy. With nearly the same wheel base and rear seat leg room. I dunno, I sure do like the GM's...

I like the Tacoma, have owned Toyotas for 25 years now, I consider them recreational vehicles and not real trucks. Some people get offended by that statement, I don't ...I love my little tacoma, but I also know its' limitations. Tacos not unlike the the short bed step sides of the 70's...mostly useless for hauling much of anything, but a great run-around play vehicle, and the occasional light duty hauling...such as lawn mowers as you say...
