This is my first Toyota. Do our ecu's have enough adjustment to handle a more free flowing intake and exhaust? Some other vehicles I've owned have required a tune.

I contacted Borla and looks like they have some catback systems in stock at their warehouse in Tennessee. Was hoping they'd have some at their SoCal location, but they don't keep/sell them there (online orders only); otherwise I would've bought local to save from shipping costs & time. I'm PCS'ing overseas so this is just going to be on hold.

You can order from Summit, Jegs, or A&A Auto Stores and get it for $570; which is less than buying direct from Borla. IIRC, Summit and Jegs can drop ship straight from Borla; whereas A&A gets it shipped to them, then to you. There might be other online vendors, but those three I know of for sure from Borla.

I think the question is which first. Just a matter of time before both get on the truck.

hah you know it's true though. I told my wife about it and told her it was an expensive hobby. She just agreed and looked the other way . She knows it's going to happen though. At least I did get the OK on better tires on day 1. I didn't even say anything. She just looked at it and said it needed better tires like my last one. I said ok and done once these wear out.

Unfortunately for our pockets it is true. However, I never took the plunge with the 2011 trd sport I
traded in, the CAI seemed to do everything I wanted - both sound and low end improved nicely so
I never ended up replacing the exhaust. Not sure which way to go first on this engine though. That
clip of the 19291 MF, sounded really good.

Do you have both or did you do what I did with the aftermarket filter
and tear out the carbon filter on the top part as well?

I did what you did, aftermarket K&N with the tear out carbon filter. I plan on getting a real intake soon though. Really need a tune too!!

would love to hear yours after the cai too, the MF system sounds really good in the clip.

where would you get the tune? are you waiting until after the cai is installed?
