FWIW I think they would sell much better if you offer it as a complete plug and pay housing vs a retrofit item for the 2nd gens. Many of the earlier 2nd gen trucks need new housings anyway, making it even more appealing. When it is a DIY retrofit item only you start to lose some people to other alternatives.

So... status update since I know everyone is excited.

Truth be told: we're at capacity overseas for production of other lights that came before the Tacoma lights, which in turn delays the ETA of the Tacoma lights a bit further I'm afraid.

We have 1,000 sets of the 09-18 Ram lights and similar quantities of F150 (15-17 and 18+) and Super Duty lights, as well as all of our other models, tail lights, etc. all in production, and the Tacoma lights fall next after that.

Current ETA is realistically going to be late June-July. Keep in mind shipping alone takes 4-6 weeks, which means they have 4-6 weeks to produce all the Tacoma lights from now.

Yes, it sucks. Yes, the ETA was pushed back again. I know it sucks--I want these on your truck yesterday too. Truly.

The good news, however, is we have @mesojdm running a set and running them hard--surely welcome to provide feedback and pictures soon!

They were off on the price by $500 so makes sense that they'd be off on the release date by almost a year

Yeah but his first estimate of when they would be ready was Sept 2018. Now it's June/July 2019

The timing on this upgrade seems strange to me with the 2020’s only a few months away. LED headlights will be offered as standard/optional on most Tacoma trim levels. 2016-2019 owners could simply purchase OEM LED headlights straight from the Toyota parts department and retrofit. Am I missing something here?

And I know the 2020s aren't changing a whole lot, but what's the chances they'll be interchangeable?

I mean aside from the good point Meso just made.

When you mean "something like this" do you mean under estimating the price by $500 and missing the expected release date by a year? Or making headlights?

Plus, the Toyota OEM LED lights are probably gonna cost substantially more
