Needs 4 led blocks per headlight. 2 high 2 low. Less empty space is mo better

Not sure why I never saw this thread. WANT.

And in case you feel like adding features how about some way to adjust level to account for loads in the bed. My old STi had a dial on the dash. My Forester has a potentiometer on the rear suspension.

Also regarding the issue of de-icing... would heat sink elements inside the housing help with this?

We should have a prototype in hand next week. Can confirm more details when I see the unit in hand. Stay tuned.

I feel like with as many 2nd gens that are on the road as well as basically zero headlight upgrade options from the factory this is a tremendous untapped market. For obvious selfish reasons I think you guys should consider it for a (not-so) future project. With over a million (1.1ish million) Tacomas sold in the US alone from 2005-2012 with the same headlight and no factory option for upgrades that's a large segment of potential buyers for the same R&D investment.

I realize the new trucks could potentially have more #'s on the road eventually if they keep building the same truck with the same headlight for 10 years but with a factory option for premium headlights on this new model you're building a housing with probably about 15% the potential buyers at the time of offering with this one.

Don't get me wrong, I dig it and if I had a new truck I'd buy a pair so I don't want it to seem like I'm thread crapping... just trying to speak on behalf of a rather large segment of potential buyers that are patiently waiting and quietly hoping you see the potential for a 2005-2012 version of this headlight.

ETA: I'm not trying to derail your thread so this will be the only comment about the 2nd gens. Very nice looking headlight though and I'm happy for the folks that can utilize this model. Keep up the good work!

Nice. I just altered the levels in Photoshop to view the headlight and this looks very intriguing! We have several Tacoma owners here at our agency so if you need testers living all over Los Angeles and San Bernardino let us know :D

Except that's an OEM Acura TLX array retrofitted, not new from scratch. It'll be 3 per light. :)

The Retrofit Source is already tapping this market, though. While there may not be a "factory" replacement option, there are plenty of people who have retrofit projectors into the stock housings. The overhead on parts is much less than the labor would be for TRS to produce a new housing, and the cost to the consumer is much less as well. While a factory replacement would be nice, there are numerous vendors who offer quality retrofit options for our generation.

I'm assuming these plug and play lights will only be for the TRD Models, leaving us SR guys in the dust.....
