As much as I don't want polls to matter after 3 games, they do. Just like preseason polls shouldn't matter at all, they do. If you start out highly ranked, you have more leeway as far as wins and losses go. If you're ranked in the top 10, and lose 1 game, you can still claw your way back to a possibly playoff birth. Those teams that have already fallen out of the polls basically stand no chance.

Just in case you're actually so dumb as to not realize that.

And if you have one loss and Nick Saban isn't your coach. You're pretty much out.

That's simply not true. The only poll that matters any more is the playoff committee.
Look at your team, do you really believe they are the 11th best team in the country right now? I don't believe you do.
Stop worrying about or quoting stupid polls and let the actual games work them selves out.

First of all the butthurt that's vibing is quite evident. Yeah you're mad teams like Georgia, Tennesee, and Florida are ranked even though they've looked pretty crapy thus far. At the same time, they also take a look at potential when making these rankings. All 3 of those teams have talent all over the field, and when playing well, have the capability to beat just about anybody in the country. And until they lose a game, they'll keep the deserved rankings for being undefeated no matter how it looks.

They're absolutely not the 11th best team in the country. But the voters say they are. And those numbers matter. For argument's sake, say the 25th ranked team beat someone ranked in the top 4. Are they gonna jump to 20? No. They're probably gonna be top 12-15, depending on how they played that team. Keep winning, keep moving up and at the end of the season, holy shit, yea they lost a close game during the season, but look who they beat...maybe we should look at them for a playoff team.

Now, that same 25th ranked team beats #22...they might switch places with them them that week and then sure, it's a nice win, but the voters will look at it totally differently than if it was a top 5 or even top 10 win.

You can't honestly sit there and tell me you don't think the numbers beside a team's name mean jack shit when it all comes down to time to vote.

The polls early or late is part of the fun of college football.

    Playoff teams after Week 3
    [IMG]

    1. Alabama : Freshman Jalen Hurts ran for 146 yards in a 48-43 win at Ole Miss, becoming the first quarterback to run for more than 100 yards on a Saban-coached team (in college or the NFL).

    2. Louisville : The Cardinals made an emphatic statement in their 63-20 rout of Florida State. They are the first ACC team to score 60 points in three straight contests and the 63 points is the most given up by a Seminoles team in a game.

    3. Ohio State : The Buckeyes scored 35 points in the first half of a 45-24 win at Oklahoma, the most points the Sooners gave up in the first half of a game at Memorial Stadium. OSU opens Big Ten play in two weeks against Rutgers at home after a bye this coming week.

    4. Michigan : The Wolverines fell behind Colorado 21-7 early but pulled away behind their dominant defense. The Buffaloes had more points, yards and first downs in the first quarter than they had in the final three quarters combined.

In 2015 OU and Mich State both had 1 loss (along w/ Bama).

In 2014 Ohio State and Oregon also had 1 loss (along with Bama).

Y'all better be ready. We need you to beat Louisville and us to beat you to have a shot at the 3 way tie to win the Atlantic.

Then again it won't matter if we continue to play this way cause we'll drop another along the way.

You are clueless. I don't give a flying fuck about rankings and I think it's ridiculous that any one else does.

This, quite possibly, may be the best post in this entire thread.
