This has been the year of young teams...so you really don't know...may click just right

Kiffin being out is interesting...I can't imagine the offensive game plan will be much different than the rest of the year, and I'd guess Sarkisan was already actually calling the plays for the Washington game

Saban probably told him he wasn't allowed to go because he missed the bus AGAIN after the Washington game

With the infusion of talent, especially in the areas we really needed, it could be a good year. I expect a lot of the freshmen to play early, which may lead to a slow start. But we routinely played 29 underclassmen this year and should have won 10 games (including a bowl game). Time will tell.

If Sark is smart, he'll just have Hurts hand the ball to Scarbrough 30 times.

After seeing ND this season...I'm not as worried as I was last year when they scheduled it.

Finally heard an announcer on espn (fl/iowa game ) mention that saying alabama being unbeatable is too much hype.

Apparently it's been tense at Alabama since Kiffin got the FAU job. His attention has been divided, and Saban sat down with him the day after the Peach bowl and they "mutually decided" that it was best for Kiffin to GTFO.

I just heard the talking heads announcing the FL/Iowa game say that to go from essentially a back-office analyst to the guy calling plays is going to be a huge jump. I don't know if I believe that. He's not a GA. He's been a head coach before.

Sark wasn't calling plays during the bowl game. It was classic Kiffin. Over thinking to try to pick the perfect play, continually calling pass plays even when the running game was working well, etc.

He's been in Tuscaloosa for three years. In that time we've had two Heisman finalists and one winner, won three SEC titles, made the playoffs 3 times, won a national title, and we're in the game again this year. I won't say anything bad about him. I yelled "RUN THE DAMN BALL" as much as any Alabama fan, but I won't argue with his results.

One bonus from the move to Sark... Clemson has zero film to review to understand his tendencies. He and Kiffin have both said publicly that they "speak the same language," but there's no film to review to analyze the Sark nuances. Maybe that benefit will offset the disruption of switching coaches? At least that's what I'm telling myself.

    Rose Bowl prediction...

Penn State completes the trifecta of the "elite" B1G schools going down in bowl games...

That's kind of my concern...no one really KNOWS Sark's MO but I'm sure it won't be terribly different than if Kiffin were there and fully focused

It could go the other way, and the kids are distracted or he tries to do too much to change it up...but I can't imagine Saban gives him that much leeway in a game this big

Yeah, I doubt he'll try to change too much up in week. Hopefully it'll Kiffin minus the stubbornness when it comes to pass vs. run.

Bo is a monster, and he's fresh, having played very little all year. Clemson's front 7 is tougher than Washington's, and Alabama won't be able to win the ball game w/o opening things up, but a steady does of Bo needs to be part of the plan, too.

Washington and tOSU should move down... They were both embarrassed, tOSU in particular.

There's no final committee poll... There will just be Coaches and AP polls. I can't imagine the top 4 staying the same. Depending on the NC game, Bama and Clemson will be 1/2 in some order. After that, who knows?

I'm still trying to decide the lessor of two evils; B1G or the reservoir tip? :notsure:
