I may hate Bama (because I live here and am an LSU fan) but I obviously agree that the rest of the SEC is let's say "lesser" than Bama & LSU, to put it nicely.

 

That can and WILL change. Florida is on the right track, and some talking head, oh yeah, Kirk Herbstreit (aka coffeesob) said that Tennessee would win the east this year.

 

True, it can and will. Both teams will remain powerhouses though for the foreseeable future. I hope the East can catch up and create some big powerhouses again.

 

Florida will be back. UGA will be back. USCe and UT will be gutter dwellers for a while....

McElwain and Smart are going to be Gods in the east.

 

Oh, and Kentucky may make some noise going forward, although I don't see them being much more that a thorn in the side or a spoiler team.

 

I don't know, I cant really respect any of the SEC teams besides Vandy and maybe Auburn outside of football just because the academic ratings are a downright embarrassing, and that's what college is for after all. Thats why UT (Texas) will always have some level of respect, because they're an actual respectable institution of higher learning. However, the SEC is a football conference and not a place for academics excluding A&M and Vandy. But too often you get people who forget that the team they're rooting for only exists because it's a school and not just a football stadium.

lol UT being a gutter dweller.... I'd say we're doing better than most with the "coaching" changes we had to go through before the AD got his head out of his ass and ponied up for a decent coach.

 

I just think it will take Butch longer to get it turned around with the recent allegations and issues. I think he can do it though.

Also, he will be going up against McElwain and Smart for recruiting....in the east alone. Stoops is pulling some talent too at UK. It all just got a whole lot harder in the east for Butch.

 

The allegations aren't even major, yes the caught wind in the national media for a week but at the exact time that was happening, there were over 100 other open sexual assault cases with other schools. Plus even if they found something it would be waged against the school itself, not the football team. It wasn't like Baylor where our football staff actually covered anything up. They were all reported cases and will all see their time in court.

That being said, I wouldn't take your trip to Knoxville too lightly. A lot of fancy names think we end our streaks this year with an exclamation point. Each year Butch has been here we have improved by two wins, I see that happening again this year.

 

I never take it lightly. They always play Bama tough. My grandfather was golf buddies with Phil Fulmer, and man did I hate those years.

 

Those are all exams taken junior/senior of high school. A more accurate measure of the university's impact is graduation rate combined with difficulty of major, average salary out of college, post grad job rate and masters/PHD opportunities after undergrad. All of which are lead by Vanderbilt or A&M.

 

And, none of which has to do with........FOOTBALL!

Also, I would venture to say that A&M's numbers in the categories you mentioned will fluctuate quite a bit, given the drastic decline of the petroleum markets.

 

That's all fine and dandy, but this is a football thread, not an academics thread. So your point is null.

I'm in the engineering department and its not...its actually one of the smallest because its so difficult
