2016 OEM Tacoma cover price?

When I got my truck, the salesman told me I could just pick one up later, and he would let me use his discount to order one. After I did some research I found out he really had no idea what he was talking about. It is not available to purchase. It is however available to be replaced by the parts dept, you have to buy it in pieces, and I was told that it could be up to and possibly over $2,000 to get all the necessary parts and have it installed, which also involves cutting open the rails and installing the locking posts for each fold. in retrospect, I'm glad I didn't get it anyways, you can and will do better with aftermarket stuff. Plus it weighs 80 pounds, while other models are half that. I was pissed and gave the sales manager a mouthful and he offered to "see what he could do" but after looking around I for sure don't want one. Getting a Soft top instead

 

Somebody here looked into all the parts required and it was a little over $1350. $650 for the cover, $400 for the bed rails and $200 for the other mounting hardware. My truck came with it even though I ordered my truck without it. I tried to sell it here but only got some tire kickers and low ball offers. I live in the PNW if anybody is interested.

Mine doesn't leak from what I can tell, I've never seen water inside. This includes driving at highway speeds though downpours. It's a fully engineered piece that's clearly not aftermarket.

 

Is there any install instructions floating around for this cover? Been thinking about getting one but want to look at how it's installed first.

 

Would you sell just the cover and are you willing to ship? The dealer quoted me over $900 just for the cover today.

 

I also have a cover. It has never seen rain. I received my truck late Jun 2016 and removed the cover the next week. I replaced it with a camper shell to I could haul my dogs. The shop that installed my shell also removed the cover. They indicated it was a very easy process to remove and if installed on another 2016 that has rails the holes are already drilled. I will sell my cover for what the dealer charged me ($650.00). If you are interested please leave contact information and I will reply.

Short bed

 

Bought my soft tri-fold cover through the dealer for $380. It also comes with a battery operated led light on the inside. There are some aluminum mounts that come with it so the bolts on the cover can bolt to the aluminum mount with no problems. Easy install!

 

Anyone selling just the mounting hardware?

 

Hey there if anyone is interested I have a short bed trifold cover for sale in so-cal . Took it off right after I bought my truck since I didn't want it . Looking for $550 and if you are in the area we can switch the rails .

 

Update 7/25/16 :

I just bought an an after market hinged cover for my truck (Undercover SE) since it provides better protection against rain and snow. With that said, I'm no longer looking for an OEM unit and wanted to thank all of you who messaged me with your offers.
