Would you get a 2016 Access cab 4 cyl or a 2015 V? Both are 4 wheel drive auto trans. The '16 actually costs less which makes me want to go with it. I also like the extra power of the V6,although I don't tow anything other than a small utility trailer with a couple of motorcycles on it.

I assume you mean 2015 V6? Doesn't matter how small your tow load is, towing with the V6 versus the 4cyl is a night and day difference.

In 4 wd, always go with the v6. That means, wait and save up for a 2016 v6....just a humble opinion.

The 4 banger is good if you own a painting business and need a cheap, reliable vehicle to get you from job A to B.

Do what ya feel. The 3.5 V6 gets about the same MPG but with more power. Higher cost of admission though.

Listen to your kids.....get a six and make them happy. It will make you happy too. You save nothing in gas if you get the 2016.
With a six, you have the option of driving slow.

The reports are too, the truck with the six is very very quiet. I suspect the four is noisier. I have had seven Toyota trucks, 4 were four cylinders and three were six cylinders. My favorites all had six cylinders. You can live with a four, you look forward to driving a six.

They are just more fun even if you don't think you need the power. Life is toooo short. If it were a lot more economical, you could make an argument for it.....there is none. You don't even save money buying it when you consider the lost resale value on the other end ! Even the cruise control on a four cylinder is an ornament in the 4 wd.

The fours I had were the ones I made my kids drive when I wanted them to move out.

It never had a lack of power...it's just slow ? That sounds like a contradiction.

$28210,plus my trade for the 2015 V6,that's the best deal and I think it's a good one. For $2000 less I can get the '16 I4,for $2433 less I can get the '15 I4 5 spd, four hour drive. I'm getting on of the 4 bangers. Stay tuned.

Gotta agree completely with TacoBella. I've had a 4-banger Taco (or its predecessor) for each of the last 28 years. Great in flatlands. Plentiful power in mud and sugar sand. Sux for towing in the slightest of hills. Gotta telegraph when passing at highway speed. However, the 22R and 2.7L are bullet-proof. I'm moving up grudgingly to 6 cylinder, but only because I do occasionally tow. As others have said, no prob at low speed (e.g., pulling out of boat ramps...).

If you are trying to decide between one of two trucks, make sure you try out both of them in the way you intend to use them. I hope the have the 4 cylinder in stock so you can compare it with the six. Rather then just be concerned which is the best deal, decide which is the best truck for you. If it's too expensive, wait and save a little more.
