Big deal! In 10 years when it starts rotting, they'll replace it and put you in a new vehicle for free! They'll never learn.

Any kind of undercoating process you can have done to help with frame rusting?

Just received this from one dealer here I was talking to... :(

"I asked my manager when we would start placing orders for the 2016's and he said - best estimate is around Christmas time."

Sounds like he's just messing with you. The fleet site says October delivery, and that is when I expect it to occur. Who knows when we'll actually be able to order though.

Messing with me? I doubt that, I'm ready to buy now and let him know just that. Right, fleet says Oct. but
like you said, who knows when we can actually get one.

    Agreed. In a DCLB.

Although I'm pretty happy the TRD sport can apparently get the sunroof. That's the main thing I like from the limited that I can't add relatively easily later.

Is there any feature on the current Limited that you can't get on the Sport other
    than the scoop?

Probably the chrome accents and the non-chrome grille. Like most have said, it doesn't make sense that the TRD OR and Sport get that ugly chrome mouthpiece while the Limited has that non-chrome grille when the Limited is historically the chrome accent package + luxury features.

Hate chrome so that's a good thing :) Was leather & heated seats an option in the 2015 Sport?

Something else I found odd, I was that one of the many accessory options for the 2015 Tundra's
was a remote start but I could not find that same option for the Taco.

I doubt that, it looks like our frame recall is the last one. NHTSA ruled that its owners responsibility to wash his car in winter to prevent frame massive rust.
Clearly NHTSA guys have some magic water that does not freeze in -14F conditions.
All those car manufacturers have to do is paint that damn thing correctly.
I am pretty sure majority of people living in NorthEast would trade extra cup holders or electronic gizmos for proper paint job.

I guess there's also a chance the TRD models will not have push button start. I have never been able to find an interior shot of the OR at the auto shows where the key area was visible, only in the Limited.
As far as heated seats, the same thing applies. Most likely it might be a port installed accessory package.

Not push button..... remote starter. If you go to Toyota.com, one of the accessories, like
floor mats, bed extender, etc is a Remote Start - but not in the Taco.

I would like remote start, but not aftermarket. I don't like how clunky they are and that they cut into factory wiring. Maybe they've come a long way, haven't looked in a while.

I owned a 2014 silverado for a brief minute and that remote start was heaven in the winter.

Forgive me for derailing but why was that Silverado so short lived?

Impulse buy during all the rebates, got $10k off sticker and was lured by all the fancy gizmos and upgrading to a fullsize. Owned it for 4 months and realized it wasnt for me (build quality, wasnt keen on overall look, etc.), stupid to do that with car buying financially but just couldnt keep making payments on something I hated so much, traded back into a taco.

Yes. You can do it yourself. And, it works. I have had toyota trucks for 25 years in a heavily salted area and Never came close to a rusted frame in all that time in trucks up to and over ten years old. Once every year or two, put biodegradable oil in a garden sprayer and spray your frame underneath. You can also touch up areas with wheel bearing grease using a foam brush. It takes less time then an oil change !! Only grease or oil based substance that does not harden will work.

You can also spray body panels into the drain holes and prevent them from rusting too; perhaps once every three years. No rust EVER.
