meh, its a good quality truck. Toyota has a good rep.
And when compared to a new full size with the same features, being 4x4, double cab, navigation, AC etc its actually reasonable. Well at least from what I have compared on the Canadian market.

It's the price of entry for what I wanted and where i live although the Tax put it over #40K When I started looking two months ago I had a dealer price the same Truck for $ 44000.+ I walked away and two months later this is the best $$$ I could find. Just being honest.

That's a good deal. You got all the options and packages for about 1000 dollars.

    Where do you live?

I bet you could get that for invoice pricing. The key is to find another dealer within your state that will. Or, make your dealer think they will.

I shopped around for a month and ended up ordering through my local Toyota dealer. I actually had a better competing offer from another dealership 40 miles away but in the end decided I would rather buy locally. The best the dealer would do was invoice + their $500 DH. I ordered a 16 TRD OR DC w/ Auto Trans in MGM -- option packages of JBL + Towing and some other accessories like the predator running tubes, all weather mats, door sill protectors, bed mat, first aid, etc.

Ordered on 12/19 and I was informed last week we have a build date of 1/23/16.

MSRP on this truck is $38831
My price is invoice of $37478.27 + $516.20 DH+Filing fee.

One thing that does kind of suck is the sales tax. Back in November we voted on and passed a 5 year sales tax hike to fix our roads. The rate will go from 7.63% to 8.25% effective January 1, so an extra $235 in sales tax due to the timing =/

Wish I knew what I wanted sooner! Could have gotten it just before New Years, hehe.

Anyhow, add $3134.54 in sales tax to the above number and the out the door price is $41,129!

Registration will be another $800 something so by the time it's all said and done, with taxes and registration adding $4000 to the costs, this becomes a $42,000 truck! Jesus...

You've got to love a business world where the government is making way more off the sale of this truck than the dealer is.

The real kicker is the whole reason we had to raise our sales tax is because the city council voted to ban recreational marijuana shops in Colorado Springs. It was a moral vote... they didn't want those shops in Colorado Springs.

Thanks Clovis and everyone, I looked for two months and worked with 5 Dealers and this was the best I could do & working with the closest Dealer worked out best for me because they offered lift time oil changes which is a +. I had to have the Long bed for my Quad Runner as I use it when I tow my car to the drag strip and the JBL Tech package was a plus too. I Know $40K sounds like a lot and it is but from some of the Trucks I see on this site a few more people have paid $40K + as well. In 5 years a $40K Tacoma will pay dividends when I trade it in for the 2021 model but for right now I'm happy with the deal i got.

    Best Foxy
