The first Toyota our family took delivery of was a '96 4runner. My first Toyota was a '00 4runner, which over the years took on many modifications. Several Toyotas later, I am in the process of converting my 2012 Sequoia (only 38k miles) back to stock, selling it, and finalizing my order for a 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport in Quicksand, manual transmission. I test drove the manual yesterday and was blown away by how phenomenal the throw of the stick was and the forgiveness of the clutch. I'm fortunate that I'm still dealing with the same sales manager at the same dealership 20 years after our first delivery.
Options on the Tacoma look to be: Premium pkg, mudguards, predator tube steps, truck bed D rings, cargo net, tri fold cover, and mini tie downs with hooks.
After being part of the t4r.org forum, I missed the lack of an enthusiast forum while a Sequoia owner. I look forward to years of enjoyment and teaching my 3 young kids to drive a manual someday on this rig. This is truly a forever car. For those of you old enough, a tacoma has been my dream car ever since Marty McFly made it look awesome in 1985. Thankfully my wife now recognizes that if I'm going to get a midlife crisis car, at least it's something that can tote us and the 3 kids around (when not using the Sienna). I'll post a pic of my new rig once it arrives toward the middle/end of April. It has a build date of 3/28.
