I have a 2016 DCSB 4X4 SR5 and live in Eastern PA. I don't know about the mpg, but the air dam takes a beating going through snow drifts and mounds piled up by the plows. I don't think it will last long and I kinda wish there was a metal alternative.

This video doesn't focus too much on the air dam, but you can see the vortex generators on the corners of the dam. The cheif engineer explains these features at the mirror section. Just some interesting features that the air dam has that may not have been in the gen 2 air dam.

I removed mine and if there is a drop in mileage, it has not been enough for me to notice. Still getting about 23mpg highway. If there was an available air dam that was maybe half as wide I might be inclined to install it just to clean up the front end a bit.

HAHA Airdam. Umm its a great thing to have to snag up on high curbs and for off roading its a addition to my recycle bin.

I removed my front air dam about 3 months ago, but then this morning I decided revisit how the air dam looks compared to it removed, so I mounted it back on the truck, and I have to admit that I actually like the looks of the truck better with it than without it. I also like how it keeps crap off of the steering linkage and the suspension, and I don't have to store it in my shop anymore.

Can someone take a pic of the plastic clips used to attach the airdam? Are they the same as the clips used in addition to the threaded bolts to secure the grille?

It isn’t clips. It’s held on with bolts. There are about 10 of them.

I guess info is better late than never...

I got the above image from toyotapartsestore.com

The bolts that hold the airdam on are components 28 and 29. Component 29 gives part number 9018306019 (pretty sure that is the site-specific number, not Toyota's, but I haven't confirmed). Component 28 is not listed currently, which I think is because the site is out of stock.
