How did that work for you? Did it noticeably cool the bed for the dog. I've heard of this before, but haven't tried it yet. When I talked to the guys about getting a shell, I asked them to put a boot in, but they said that no one does that anymore because it scratches the paint. I live in the desert, so I need to figure out something for Fido.

What if you double sided taped some foam to square window of the truck about the thickness of the gap between the window and the cap window, and have them install the cap right up against it.
Unless that might affect opening and closing the window. Hmmm

Because the bungee cords have a lot of length and stretch, I would think it would work fine on either.

"The Pit" parking lot... great shot of the rock! All too familiar with that spot. Shell looks great. I'll keep an eye out for you around town. I live in Cayucos, so maybe we'll run into each other.

Just what I'm thinking of getting . What did it run you with the rack and the windoors? If you don't mind me asking....

Also, what's the height to the top of the shell, and to the top of the rack....Need to know if it will fit in the garage :D. My current high back Innovation shell (no longer in business) just fits, but not with the racks

Out the door it was $2800.. included front tilt-down slider and windoors with the upgraded dual latches on all opening sides, carpet and lights (dome + 2 rope LED).

Just saw the rest of your question sorry.. I should know the answer to this, because I measured multiple times I have 72" of clearance to get into my garage. I have to take the racks off (SUPER easy, takes 45 seconds as long as they are unlocked) to fit in the garage. With the racks off I have about 3" of clearance. It was very close to fitting in with the racks on. Hope that answers your question... If you want me to get exact measurements, let me know and I'll throw a tape on it for ya.

    Thanks!
That's close enough. As long as it's less than 6' 3" I should be good :)
Nice to see ARE is finally making the MX for the 2016s. For a while they were not; or at least that model was not showing up on their website.
The only thing that hits on my current truck when going into the garage is the radio antenna...It's my unofficial height sensor :D If it hits, I need to be careful in areas with low clearance.

    Mostly stuff I built.
Worked pretty good would keep the bed with in about 15* of the cab. This was on my regular cab '85 Toyota so he HVAC was not the most efficient in the world. Dogs didn't complain.

How has this affected your MPG's? I know several other users have been having major issues with the same mold (the rear of the cabin being lower than the front of the topper) and wondering if you have experienced any similar issues.

I was reading similar posts about that as well, even before having it installed. I ordered it last October, so I was locked into it regardless. After the installation, I noticed that the difference you are referring to (between the rear of the cab and the front of the shell) is maybe a half inch. Kept an eye on mpg on the way home, and I actually got better mileage going home. Possibly had the wind in my favor, but I am not getting worse mpg. That I'm sure of.

Mine only took a week and a half to get to the dealer after ordering. Carving out the time to go get it is turning out to be a whole other problem though. Monday is looking good right now.

I love it so far, it's not 100% weatherproof, but has kept the vast majority of the bed dry even when raining. Just one little spot in the front PS of the bed trickles a little bit of water in. It's great for getting out of the insane Idaho winds though. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another right now! Hopefully, I won't ever need to though... seems pretty durable!
