    FYI for future ARE buyers:

I've been looking at shells for my 2017 TRDOR DCSB. I like the Snugtops but I can't justify the price of the Rebel once you add in all the fancy bits. So I landed on the ARE CX-series with recessed windows, but I remember a thread on TW about fitment issues. I had an opportunity to clarify with an ARE rep as to the reasons for the fitment issues on the CX. The rep said they are using a slightly modified version of the 2gen molds and have not redesigned the fitment specifically for the 3rd gen. At this time, they didn't have a definitive answer on whether they plan on doing anything to correct the issue with the CX mold.

Soooo... I went with a V-series because it seems like those are fitting pretty well on the 3rd gen. I'll post up some detailed pictures on the fitment once I get my top installed in a couple weeks.

Thanks. I wanted the CX, but will likely be going to Leer because of this.

Huh. I got a CX, and have been very happy with the fit, and not sure what they'd change.

You might get a quote from your local Century dealer while you're at it. Leer and Century are made in the same factories, from the same molds, paint, windows etc... same guarantee. I saved $200.

There was a pretty big thread on this issue. Apparently, the roof was a little above the truck cab roof.

It does look like the front edge of the cap sits a touch higher than the rear edge of the cab. Roof rack blends it in though.

Liking quality products is not "being anal." You asked for feedback and got a polite, spot-on observation about an obvious issue.

My snugtop rebel sits a tad bit higher than the cab. Bothered me at first but I have since gotten used to it.

And if you look at the more pricey snugtop its the same height about the truck roof so enless you just came from the fricken moon. He is being alittle bit anal again. Some people just think they are paying alot of money for something so it has to be perfect. Thats not the real world ! If don t like it don t buy it !
