I noticed no change in the ride, handling, or visability. I installed mine to save some more $$ and if wasn't so big I could have picked it up by myself so weight is really not an issue IMO. I can say I like the lack of visability at night and the extra layer of tint makes even the brightest headlights just a twinkle. I have the backup camera system which I think helps in the reversing area of visability. I did get a little wind noise added to my ride but I usually jam the radio at all times or have the windows down so I could care less about that. I have a ARE V if that makes a difference.

I had the same concerns, but have been pleasently surprised. Ride and handling seem the same, visibility is only affected when dirt or snow accumulate on the rear window, or in between the cab and the cap.

I just ordered mine (Snugtop Rebel) so I will know in a few weeks. We used to have a Ford 7.3 with an 8' box with a Snugtop. Just like everyone else says the weight is negligible, but the visibility part you get used to. At least you have a back-up camera, but with a shell I am always more cautious backing into spots in fear that a branch or something will be sticking down.

Like other have said the weight of my Snugtop Rebel on my 2017 Pro is negligible as you're only talking about 200 lbs. The good part is that the 200 lbs is over the rear wheels so IMO keeps the truck more balanced and isn't tail light so will help in terms of traction. I do have a set of Firestone Ride Rite air bags on order for times when I load up the bed with more weight (camping, etc) to keep the stock Pro leafs from getting stressed and to keep the truck level.

How do you like that camper shell? Could you put up some pictures whenever you get a chance please? I just ordered one and am interested to see how it'll look once it comes in.

Absolutely love it. I did splurge and got it fully optioned out: Windoors w/ sliders, Fold down Front window with slider, Sportman Pkg (allows for 500 lbs on the roof), Pro lock with remote unlock/lock.

Topper King has 2 locations. Brandon would be closest to you. Please look at their working hours because they don't kid around. I have had times in the past when I came 5 minutes before closing time and they were gone and other times when I came by 3 hours after closing hours and they helped me.

Also it might be a good idea to call ahead of time.

Thanks for the info! I'm going to swing by Cap World in Kissimmee tomorrow, just to get a starting price. Ever deal with them?

Nope. I live in vicinity of Topper King so I never really shopped around. I know they all swindle you so I might as well be swindled without traveling far.

I posted a video review of my topper. Topics I discuss in it are universal to all toppers. Here is that video again. Feel free to remember some of the issues I discuss because those will be something that you need to pay attention to in the show room.

You might also want to check out soft topper if you havent. I wanted a lightweight solution that I could take on and off, and also carry tall things in the bed.

Lightweight, durable, and easy to take on and off. Also significantly cheaper than the hard shell was going to be.

Thanks. Cap World quoted a Leer 100XR for just under $1,900 with headliner and taxes, about $450 more if I want windoors. I need to try to find reviews of their work and check out Topper King, too.

Can someone please post some up close pics of thier A.R.E. Overland? I'm primarily interested in seeing exactly how the cap sits on the bed rail and how much overhang there is. It's very hard to tell in most pictures because the bottom of the cap is black

    Thanks!

Did you give this a try? My pup opened the back window tonight (took her crate out today to pick up a tree). Luckily she stayed in the truck and didn't jump out. Don't have this problem with the 100R on my Tacoma, but my work truck has the 100xl...
