you have to call leer directly or ask your camper shell vender about this. Essentially the shell is the most affordable product Leer makes $1,200 out the door with install and lights included. No carpet liner installed. Thank you sir !

The Legend is the same topper as the 100R, but with a shorter warranty. Call your dealer for more info.

I put a clear vinyl strip across the top of my tailgate the day I installed. Works great and no issues 2 years later.

Snugtop Rebel. I'd recommend the top for sure but it has an automotive style glass that you slam to close, like an SUV. Most that have that will have a seal that contacts the top of the tailgate. I got it at the shop that installed my camper shell but you can find it on Amazon.

I wasn’t crazy about the window touching the tailgate at first but it is great. Seals really well and looks a lot better than the flat glass framed-windows with 2 latches. Plus, I wired it in to my locks so that it all works off the keyless entry.

awesome thanks for the info, the clear film looks good, can't even tell it's there and seems like a must have to keep it from wearing any paint off. Do you have a picture of the back window closed and sealed on the tailgate? i'd like to see how it all fits together.

Here you go. The last 2 show the glass slightly opened and then slammed shut so you can see where the bulb seal hits.

Here’s the seal looking up. You can also see the solenoid that I hooked up to unlock with the remote.

Thanks, man. It's my first shell after driving trucks for 30 years. My brother and I used to always laugh at the old guys putting camper shells on pickups. Now that we're old guys, we both have shells.

I hear ya there, I've always had a truck and have always hated shells and laughed at those with them. And here I am really wanting one now, liking them more and more and the utility that they offer. Funny how the tables turn.

Ha ha, I'm even thinking of going high roof. Wife says she'll call me a grandpa if I do.

I did the same thing as @hookembevo, have a strip of clear bra type material on the top of the tailgate where the window flap sits when closed. Works great

Just pulled the trigger on an ARE V Series this afternoon. Base shell with carpet headliner, folding front slider window, led dome light, and Yakima base rails out the door, tax included $1550.

The painful thing is the dealer said that ARE is about 4 to 5 weeks out as they're still a little backed up from Christmas so the wait begins!
