Finally uploading a pic of my truck with the new 2016 Sport rims - thought I'd share!

Incidentally - be prepared for the possibility of replacing the TPMS sensors - mine wouldn't seal in the new rims, so Discount Tire put in new ones .... at least they cut me a good price on them.

Now to get pics of my old rims and put them in the classifieds ....

    Nice! I like them!

Were your old rims the stock alloys? Where are you located? I might be interested - my '15 DCSB has steelies that are screaming to be replaced.

    Congrats!

That is interesting, that Toyota is using a different TPMS model for the 2016's.

So maybe you are offering your old TPMS modules with your used wheels?

I think those rims look better than they do on the 16's

Those look good. Also curious if your old rims were steel? I would have thought alloy TPMS would transfer over no problem. Did discount tire set you up with aftermarket TPMS? I looked into cloning a set for winter tires about a year ago but was told at the time their was no aftermarket option available for mine.

Wheels look good. If you are selling your stock TPMS sensors I'm interested.

Looks good OP. Out of curiosity how much did they run you? If I we're going with a different rim I "personally" wouldn't choose a factory rim since there are so many options out there but they look nice on your truck.

Thanks! I did have "factory" alloys - I have the Texas Edition package, which came with 17x8 black alloy rims - as it turns out, they are actually made by Ultra Wheels .... I am in Fort Worth - I'll try to get pics of the wheels this evening and posted in the classified section.

I'm not sure if I will sell the TPMS modules separate or with the rims as a package - I need to think what would be the better way to go for everyone here! I hate selling the rims to someone for them to find out that they need to buy new TPMS modules. The 2016 has individual air pressure monitoring for each wheel. However, the main difference in the TPMS module was the angle of the valve stem - it wouldn't go through the hole straight because the back monitor / battery module would hit the rim and keep the module from being square with the hole, so the seal wouldn't make contact all the way around the valve stem hole and it leaked air.

No - they were alloy but factory installed aftermarket. Discount put in aftermarket TPMS - gave them to me at cost for $25 each.

I should have them posted this evening; I'm mulling over selling the wheels and tires as a package or separately. But if separate you get first dibs as you asked first!

I paid $500 for the set. I just wanted something a little different, but loved the look of these and thought they were a good price, especially for new factory rims. There are a lot of aftermarket wheels that look great and could probably be had cheaper, but it's good that we have so many options - something for everyone!

No worries - I never thought you were knocking them! If we all liked the exact same thing, think about how boring TacomaWorld would be, not to mention everyplace else! I am pleased with the deal I got - props to Gingerbeard Man for being an excellent seller!

Unfortunately, today didn't go quite as planned, so hoping to have an ad up for the old kit sometime this week ...

@Dionchaz - I was charged install on top of the TPMS sensors, but I only brought the rims - they took my tires off of the old rims and put them on the new rims. Out the door was just shy of $200. They cut me a break on the TPMS sensors, and took off the rebuild kits since they weren't using any.
