My truck developed a really squeaky rear suspension at about 6000 km. So squeaky I could hear it just driving around, getting in or out of the vehicle. At 8000 km inspection, I advised the service dept about it, and the mechanic said he has seen another one like that, and he just needs to grease them. And that solved the problem - for a day. Next day the squeak returned. I noticed in other forums here that the 2nd gens have a recall on the rear leaf springs. Wonder if we are going the same route here. Any one else experience this in your 2016?

Of course the recall has nothing to do with squeaking. It's focus was on inadequate pack clips, allowing certain leaves to break and potentially puncture the plastic fuel tank.

However, you'll find lots of threads regarding squeaking and various cures, most temporary at best.

If the sagging/de-arching stories start soon, that's a sign that Toyota has surely not improved the spring packs.

I just thought the squeak can be a sign of a bigger issue, bad alignment or fitment.
